2026 High School Team Preview: Jeff Davis

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Jeff Davis is coming off a Final Four run in ‘25 with hopes of another deep playoff run in ‘26. Coach Glass and company lost ten seniors to graduation, but the Yellow Jackets return an experienced upperclass group along with an influx of talented underclassmen and another deep playoff run could certainly be looming. Leading the way is two-way ‘26 CF/LHP Treyton Webster, who earned all-region honors last season and brings vital experience to both sides of the ball. Zack Hulett is set to take on a major role and is armed with two-way upside along with upperclass leadership. 2028 grads RHP/OF Peyton Jones and LHP Seth Saunders bolster the pitching staff depth while Jones also has a chance to see time in the outfield. Senior Karter Galbreath is a versatile piece for the Yellow Jackets that can play a plethora of positions defensively, in addition to supplying the lineup with a reliable bat. Junior Josh Worthington and sophomore Jacob Laney hold down spots in the outfield and furnish the lineup with depth. 2028 backstop Jeremiah Davis is a former Junior Future Games alumni that boasts budding strength at the dish and could be a candidate to break out this Spring. A pair of sophomores in 1B Gio Torres and OF Tye Rea are multi-sport athletes that look to contribute and provide athleticism throughout. There are a lot of new faces for this Yellow Jackets squad, but coach Glass will have his group ready to roll on February 10th with their eyes set on making noise in Region 1-A Division I.
