Our 2025 showcase season has officially wrapped with the conclusion of our annual Hoosier Holiday event. The Hoosier Holiday featured 55 prospects from across the state who were able to showcase their talents and update their Prep Baseball profile prior to the offseason getting into full swing. A few breakouts elevated their stock as we lead into the winter, highlighted below, along with a grade-by-grade look at other top performers.

Event Winners

Cain Sims RHP / OF / Mater Dei High School, IN / 2029

+ Entering the event as the highest-touted prospect, Sims reaffirmed what we saw of him as a youngster in his first official event as a high school prospect. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame is highly-advanced from a strength, rotational, and twitch standpoint - while still holding clear projection with the high-waisted nature of the body and young look to the face. His batting practice round was impressive, averaging 90 mph off the bat while peaking at 99.8 mph, and doing so through the middle of the field. While some get into loud exits by rotating hard with a pull-side approach, Cain was able to redirect energy to the middle of the field for true gap-to-gap strength that was arguably the best of the event. While I am bullish on the offensive upside and future power potential, I believe the upside on the mound is even higher. He reminds me of 2025 4th rounder Josh Flores from an aesthetic perspective with similiar high front-sides and quick, loose, and long arm action. Sims sat 86-88 comfortably with a couple rounded 89's, far-and-away the most advanced right-handed velocity that we've seen in this young 2029 class to date. The fastball command was fringy, with some over-rotation that led to arm-side misses, but the ball comes out with real life when synced. He controlled his breaking ball well, a tight, well-shaped offering that played in the mid-70s with sweep. While still far from a finished product, there are several advanced traits with Sims that makes him one of the more exciting young prospects in the state at the moment.

MacKail Tislow LHP / Avon, IN / 2028

+ Tislow's first in-person impression to our staff was as about as good as it gets, leaving this event as a clear winner and positioning himself as a must-follow southpaw for 2026. There is easy projection to the 6-foot-1, 160-pound athletic frame that leaves ample room for future strength. Gradually building pace within the delivery, Tislow is able to land with impressive hip-to-shoulder separation to help him get to a mid-80s fastball with a lower perceived effort level. The shorter takeaway couples with an in-line shoulder plane, and there is clear deception in the way the front-side works that I believe will allow the FB to jump on hitters. The heater worked up to 86 mph, sitting more 83-85, but I left most excited about his upper-70s change. The CH plays with late tumble as it works off the fastball, and he was also able to shape a short, 12/6 downer CB in the mid-70s. He extends well to play the FB up a touch, while flashing carry properties that create an exciting north-and-south pitch mix profile. The open toe at land will be monitored closely, generally indicative of inconsistent control, but he was able to at least control all pitches in this bullpen look.

Drake Davis OF / LHP / Mooresville, IN / 2027

+ A huge winner amongst the recruitable talent at this event, positioning himself as a 2027 follow as he heads into his junior season. It is a wiry, athletic, 6-foot, 170-pound frame that features impactful twitch that led to his loud showing at this event. He began the day as the top runner in attendance, burning a 6.69 60-yard dash with an impressive 1.57 10-yard split. Davis then took to outfield evals, showing off a well-above average arm that reached 88 mph, and holds upside on the mound as well as a LHP. His batting practice showed flashes of big impacts and he had the top exit velocity of any player in attendance, peaking at 101.1 mph. He averaged impacts in the upper-80s with a simple, quick, rotational swing that showed above average or better Blast metrics in all categories (averaged 22+ hand speed, 72+ bat speed, 20g rotational acceleration). His overall progress is noteworthy and he will be a strong follow for our staff during the 2026 season.

Brooks Riggs RHP / Noblesville, IN / 2026

+ Riggs is an efficient mover who showed as one of the top unsigned seniors in attendance. The frame holds some projection still at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds. The hips work well within the delivery, coiling in an athletic fashion before uncoiling in-line and showing the body control to stick the finish. He pitched at 84-85, touching 86, with a ride-type profile and quality extension. He controlled his 72-74 CB well as it showed depth and occasional bite, while also showing a 76-78 CH. He filled the zone at a quality rate, and also showed strong trends from a velocity perspective.

Carter Ellis SS / RHP / Greenfield-Central High School, IN / 2028

+ Ellis posted loud tools across the board, regarded as a T100 prospect amongst a very talented 2028 group within the state of Indiana. A stretch 6-footer with compact strength in a 190-pound frame, Ellis stood out most during batting practice with a well-sequenced, on-plane right-handed stroke that produced upper-90s exits on top end. His 91 mph average exit was the second-highest amongst all participants, and also led the event with the furthest estimated max distance at 380 feet. There is clear intent to lift to the pull-side, and he showed the ability to repeat that on several strokes. He reached 85 mph across the diamond with some feel on the dirt, showing a clear ability to project out on the dirt, although the body trends will likely depict what position his best future home is. 7.32 runner.

Quick Hits

*Highlights embedded into each name if not shown below*

2026's

+ OF Adam Biddle, Mooresville: Country-strong type 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame. Stood out most in batting practice with north-of triple digit exit velocities and the highest average exit of the day (91.9 mph). Clear upper-body strength as he delivers a heavy barrel behind the baseball. Able to lift with impact. Showed arm strength to the tune of 89 mph from the OF while running a 7.15 60-yard dash.

2027's

+ 3B Drew Palileo, Bloomington South: Stocky strong, 6-foot, 205-pound gamer-type who took one of the more-consistent rounds of batting practice of the day. Exits peaked at 96.2 mph, averaged 88.5 mph, with a short, repeatable swing that works direct from a crouched, strong stance. On a line mostly with some feel to work middle and pull-side. 7.15 runner.

+ RHP Nolan Newell, Crown Point: Intriguing right-hander from Crown Point that holds immense projection in a rail-thin 6-foot-5, 175-pound frame. Moderate lift to a slight inward turn at balance point, short compact arm action works to an over-the-top slot that plays at a 6-foot-6 release height. FB played 82-84 with some life, mixed with a straight change at 75-77 and a low-70s curveball that played with depth and some bite while averaging 2300-type spin.

+ RHP Ben Spencer, Westfield: Lean, athletic, 6-foot-1, 155-pound frame with clear room for future strength gains. Short, even, athletic lift with control as he works down the slope. Clean, quick arm on the backside jumps out at more of a stock slot. 84-85 FB played with riding life and was controlled well, easily getting into his velocity. Shaped both secondaries well, killing spin on a 78-80 CH, and showing a slurvey 73-74 SL with 2/8 shape. Chance for more velocity as strength is added, RHP follow in the class.

+ SS Oliver Kingery, University: Lean, athletic, 5-foot-11, 160-pounder. Tied for the best 60-yard dash of the event with a 6.69. The feet are clearly the best tool, indicated by the run time and validated with a sound round on the dirt with actions that I have seen translate in game. Easy projections to stay on the middle of the dirt with average-but-playable arm strength. Offensively, starts with high hands and separates with a short stride. Path showed steep at times, but found some ability to leverage the ball with exits in the low-90s. Follow in the class.

+ OF Brody Cain, Guerin Catholic: Athletic, 5-foot-9, 165-pounder who showed a well-rounded toolset. 7.09 runner, with his best present tool being the 90 mph arm he showed during outfield evaluations. At the dish, the right-handed hitter started in an even, athletic stance with a high back elbow and connected handset. Quiet hand load worked on-time with short stride. Path worked direct with some retraction in the torso, exits peaked at 93 mph.

+ 1B Forest Dorsman, Homestead: Looks the part in the left-handed batter's box at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds. Starts slightly open with some crouch before controlling a hovering-type stride back to even. Hands start lower with a slight climb, turns behind well with the ability to match plane for line-drive, gap-to-gap type contact. Exits peaked at 92.7 mph, showed barrel feel as he averaged 88 mph throughout his round. 7.39 runner, strength will likely help the run time and exits jump, with some feel around the bag and a low-80s arm across.

+ OF Jack Gudorf, Jasper: Stocky strong 5-foot-11, 180-pounder. Stood out most in batting practice with a peak exit of 97-plus while averaging 90 mph throughout his round. Sets up in a strong, even base with a short gather into the backside and simple, repeatable moves throughout. Downhill bat path plays direct with some ability to leverage, though his round featured mostly low hard contact through the middle. 7.36 runner who showed an 81 mph arm from the outfield, profiles as a bat-first type LF.

Underclassmen

+ 2028 RHP Cass Omlor, Zionsville: Lean, projectable, 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. Moderate lift with a slight inward turn before a more tilt-and-topple move down the slope with uphill shoulders. Full-circle arm action accelerates with arm speed to a higher slot, FB played at 83-84 mph with carry and fringy control. Straight CH came out at 73-75, while the CB showed as his best secondary. 69-72 CB played with two-plane shape while spinning in the 2200s, was also his best controlled offering. Clear upside remains, strong follow in the class.

+ 2029 RHP/1B Jeandaniel Marcano, Carmel: Highly-intruiging youngster from Carmel with advanced rotational capabilities. 6-foot-1, 220-pound frame still holds room for strength, has a chance to end up very physical when he reaches full maturity. Showed best on the mound, but flashed loud bat strength as a RHH with exits north-of 94 mph. On the bump, it is an athletic-but-raw operation. Lifts to a tall, wide balance point before a shorter stride. Loose, slingy arm action from a wider, mid 3/4 slot. Fastball played with some arm side run at 82-84, touching 85 mph. Secondaries are still refining, slowed body down for a 72-74 CH, swept a loose, 66-68 SL.

+ 2028 SS Nathan Cooper, Providence: Some compact strength present in the 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame, has added strength since our last showcase looks. Impressed most in batting practice with raw twitch from the left side. Aggressive swinger with some length to the uncoil, peaked at 92.5 mph throughout a round where he was able to create pull-side lift. 7.13 time in the 60-yard dash creates some speed/power upside. More athleticism than polish on the dirt, reached 82 mph across the diamond.

+ 2028 RHP Brody Stevenson, Pendleton Heights: Sturdy, 6-foot-1, 200-pounder with a young look. Efficient movement patterns down the slope with a loose, semi-stab style arm action that comes out at an over-the-top slot. Fastball averaged 83 mph and came out with some occasional carry life. Left most-bullish on the mid-70s change, a well-shaped offering (avg. 1.7" IVB, 8.8" HZ) that showed late arm-side fade with fastball arm speed. Downer-type mid-70s CB is a quality offering that plays well with his other two pitch shapes. Strong follow with more jumps to be had.
