As always, our evaluation process is fluid and ongoing, built on multiple viewings and discussions to get the most accurate feel for each player’s abilities. It’s worth noting that while some players show rapid improvement, this doesn’t suggest that others have regressed—player development is simply a journey with peaks and valleys. As the season unfolds, new names will continue to surface, expanding the universe of top prospects in Utah. In addition to our player evaluations, our scouts—both in-state and nationally—have been in constant dialogue, comparing notes and making adjustments based on the latest insights to ensure the rankings are as up-to-date and accurate as possible.

INSIDE THE TOP 🔟
Cooper Goff OF / Mountain Ridge, UT / 2027Cooper retains his firm grasp on the #1 spot in the Class, featuring one of the premier left-handed swings in the entire country. Lean, athletic frame that generates legitimate power offensively and has continued room for added growth, adding to the future intrigue of the Horned Frog Commit. Cooper is on our shortlist for Preseason POTY candidates, and we expect him to have a monster Junior campaign.

Pratt Morley RHP / SS / Spanish Fork, UT / 2027Pratt solidified himself as the top arm in the Class this Summer after a standout Futures Games performance. Garnering attention and offers from Power 5 programs around the country, Pratt decided to stay close to home to compete in the Big 12 Conference for BYU. Now that he has found his next level home and is coming off a huge Sophomore year, 2026 stands to be a huge year for the Junior right-hander as he tries to lead them to back to back 5A State Titles.

Ryder Huntsman RHP / SS / Pleasant Grove, UT / 2027Ryder features one of the more electric arm talents in the state regardless of Class, and has been a top 3 player since Fall of his Freshman year. We didn’t see Ryder much this Fall while he was playing football, but his talent is too hard to ignore. BYU felt similarly and landed the #3 ranked player and a top 2 arm in the Class. The future Cougar has been working hard in the offseason and we anticipate a huge Junior season for Ryder and a loaded PG squad with high expectations.

Kayden Lambson RHP / 3B / Spanish Fork, UT / 2027Kayden has had one of the most impressive years of anyone when you consider where he was last Spring, and where he is today. The growth and improvement are substantial, including seeing his FB jump from low 80s in early Spring, to low 90s by Summer. He was lights out at the Futures Games, dominating his outing and grabbing the attention of major Power 5 programs from around the country. He ultimately decided to commit to a Big 12 powerhouse, the TCU Horned Frogs. Kayden will join Cooper in the ‘27 class for TCU and I believe they found a future dude in their rotation.

Nixon Warren OF / LHP / Spanish Fork, UT / 2027Spanish Fork brings a loaded team back for the 2026 season, including top end arms and productive bats, most notably with Nixon. After dominating in football all Fall, he has attacked the offseason and put himself in the weightroom setting himself up for another huge year. One of the best athletes in the state, the BYU Cougars could not ignore the talent and upside and landed another top 5 player in the Class. Nixon has an incredibly high ceiling, and will be a productive player in the Big 12 sooner rather than later.

Trig Richards LHP / OF / Salem Hills, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 1
Trig remains the top left-handed arm in the state, with a firm FB up to 89 that shows signs of added velo over the next few years. Physical, athletic frame and a quiet, yet strong mound presence make Trig a tough arm to compete with in the box. His upside and production to this point have been impressive, capturing the attention of reigning WAC Champions and local ascending D1 program, Utah Valley. With his new HS Coach in Jason Crawford and future college coach Nate Rasmussen, Trig is set up for success and massive development for years to come!

Chase Ford RHP / SS / Orem High School Utah, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 4
Chase really matured and showed high level skills during the Spring, where he began the year as a role player and blossomed into Orem’s 3 hole and starting infielder. With his 6’3 165 lb long lever frame, there is a ton of room for improved physicality that I have no doubt he will put on. Versatility along with projectability are oozing from this kid, but it also comes with consistent production. Smooth hands and a strong arm that is 88mph from both the mound and the infield, Chase possesses legit two-way potential at the next level. The type of player who can carry a team offensively for a game at any given time, and then walk to the mound and close out a win on the mound. Very high ceiling high floor type prospect, his best baseball is ahead of him.

Trent Chris LHP / 1B / Snow Canyon, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 2
Trent is coming off a great year in 2025, where he solidified himself as a top player in the Class with two-way potential. He features a FB in the mid-upper 80s T89 with ASR that creates a lot of GB/FB outs, and a feel for the CV/CH combo. Trent presents very well as a starter type arm with a strong frame and powerful lower half. Keep Trent toward the top of your lists of uncommitted 2027s heading into Spring that expect to have big seasons.

Sammy Dart LHP / 1B / Spanish Fork, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 3
Sammy remains one of the smartest, craftiest arms in the state, consistently producing year in and year out. After a successful Futures Games appearance, he has been grinding through the offseason and investing heavily into his body. You can see the growth and maturity physically, and I fully expect the work to translate to the field. He possesses a FB in the mid 80s T88, and a legit 3 pitch mix that he will attack hitters confidently with. One of the top left-handers in the Class, Sammy stands to have another strong season for the Dons, and I anticipate a commitment in the near future!

Lincoln Eure SS / RHP / Corner Canyon, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 1
Lincoln exploded onto the scene this Summer, showing out at the Futures Games at Lakepoint, GA. He flashed a firm FB sitting in the upper 80s and blowing it by hitters routinely at the top of the zone. The secondary pitch compliments well and he throws it with confidence. Very athletic, broad shoulder frame that will continue to grow and mature with time. Electric arm talent, multisport athlete with a relentless motor, James Madison found themselves a future dude for their program.
