The 2026 Mississippi high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Mississippi.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons at Pearl’s Trustmark Park, in the State Tournament finals at the end of May, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Mississippi. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

2026 OUTLOOK

+ Eupora High School enters the 2026 season under head coach Ben Aldridge coming off a strong 23–11 campaign that ended with a third-round playoff appearance in MHSAA Class 2A. Competing in District 4, the Eagles return a solid core of contributors and look to build on last season’s postseason success as they push for another deep run.

Offensively, Eupora brings back four key positional starters who provide experience and athleticism throughout the lineup. Carson Swindle (2026) and Brooks Powell (2026) anchor the outfield, with Swindle also offering two-way value. Duke Gary (2027) returns behind the plate, giving the Eagles a steady defensive presence at catcher, while Macon Ballard (2027) brings consistency and upside at third base.

On the mound, Eupora features a strong group of returning arms led by Kyler Kent (2026) from the left side, alongside right-handers Cole Cummings (2026) and Tucker Stroup (2026). Swindle adds additional depth as a left-handed option, giving the Eagles flexibility throughout the week. Additional depth comes from Dale Britt (2026), a versatile utility player to know as Eupora looks to defend its place among the top teams in District 4 and make another postseason push in Class 2A.
