Prep Baseball Texas Staff

The 2026 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Head Coach Shaun Stanton and the Rock Hill Blue Hawks enter the 2026 season with experience as their team strength. Following a 2025 campaign where they finished as 6A Bi-District Finalists with a 19-11 record, the Blue Hawks return six position players and three starting pitchers. While they must replace key loss SS Bammer Maes, the roster remains deep with several players already committed to play at the next level.

The pitching staff is anchored by senior RHP and Ranger JC commit Cole Carrell, a 1st Team All-District selection a year ago. Joining him are veteran arms Trevor Stum and utility player Brady Slanina. Offensively, the team is powered by uncommitted 2027 outfielder Carson Roy, who is coming off a record-breaking season where he set a new school single-season batting average record of .446 - the record was previously held by Josh Livingston (Texas). Roy, the reigning District Newcomer of the Year, is noted for his physical projection, speed, and ability to impact the baseball.

The infield will feature senior Anthony Gonzalez, a 2nd Team All-District 2B and Southeast Arkansas JC commit, alongside fellow senior Ayden McDaniel. The team also looks to integrate new talent, including senior catcher Reed Tebeau and high-upside underclassmen like INF/RHP Lucas Bell and Elijah Guevara. Also keep an eye out for freshmen Aiden Reddick and Porter Lee to potentially impact the varsity squad this spring. With a mix of proven and decorated veterans plus promising newcomers, Rock Hill appears well-positioned to build upon last year’s playoff appearance in the competitive UIL 6A classification.
