Best of the Fall 2026: Fastball Velocity Leaders
As part of our Best of the Fall 2026 series, today we spotlight pitchers who stood out for their fastball velocity during fall events across North Carolina. Using TrackMan data collected from both bullpens and live game action at the Top Prospect Games, this leaderboard highlights arms whose fastballs separated themselves through raw speed and how that velocity plays against hitters.
Two key metrics are featured in today’s analysis. Max Fastball Velocity represents the single hardest fastball thrown during a bullpen or game session, offering a snapshot of a pitcher’s top-end arm strength. Average Effective Velocity goes a step further, combining traditional velocity with spin and movement characteristics to provide insight into how a fastball actually plays in game situations. This metric helps distinguish pitchers whose fastballs get on hitters quicker than the radar gun alone might suggest.
The leaderboards below include both overall fall leaders and class-by-class standouts, identifying pitchers with premium velocity traits and fastballs that project to impact hitters at higher levels as the spring season approaches.
