The 2026 Mississippi high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Mississippi.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons at Pearl’s Trustmark Park, in the State Tournament finals at the end of May, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Mississippi. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

2026 OUTLOOK

+ New Site enters the 2026 season coming off an impressive 22–9 campaign that resulted in a Third Round playoff appearance in Class 2A. With head coach Luke Goff away for the season, David Dickerson will step in to lead the Royals, taking over a roster that returns a strong core of contributors and carries plenty of momentum from last spring.

The offense returns multiple impact bats, headlined by Rilyn Lambert (2028), who established himself as the top returning player after hitting .395 with 39 RBIs and eight home runs a season ago. Lambert’s presence in the middle of the lineup, paired with his ability to contribute on the mound, makes him a cornerstone of the roster. Jayden Greene (2027) and Case Clark (2027) provide additional two-way value, offering production at the plate while also factoring heavily into the pitching staff.

The 2028 class continues to push the program forward with Glen Ashton Jumper, a table-setter who hit .280 with a .534 on-base percentage while anchoring the leadoff spot, and Colton Trimble, who posted a .303 average and adds depth as a right-handed arm. New Site also benefits from a talented group of young position players, including catcher Fisher Adams (2029), who hit .333 and started nearly every game behind the plate as an eighth grader, along with middle infielders Jaxson McKinney (2029) and Rylan Stanley (2029). Stanley hit .423 in limited action last season before an injury sidelined him and will miss the first half of the spring, but his return later in the year could provide a significant boost.

On the mound, New Site brings back several arms with varsity experience. Greene, Lambert, Trimble, and Clark all return as reliable pitching options, giving the Royals versatility and depth throughout the week. Additional support comes from the 2026 class, with Dawson Trout providing outfield depth and Zander Denson adding another pitching option.

With a proven core of two-way players, standout underclass talent, and a roster built to compete on both sides of the ball, New Site looks well-positioned to remain a contender in Region 1-2A and make another deep postseason push during the 2026 season.
