December 29, 2025
With the spring season quickly approaching, we continue highlighting uncommitted prospects in the Classes of 2026 and 2027. As these athletes enter their final years of high school, many talented upperclassmen remain available, some overlooked and others quietly flying under the radar, each searching for the right opportunity to compete at the next level.
In our Uncommitted Spotlight series, we will continue highlighting these prospects across our site and social media channels. Be sure to visit the Uncommitted Spotlight page under the ‘Players’ tab on the homepage to catch up on previous features as we move through the winter and preseason.
The catcher out of Hilo High School has delivered consistent showings across multiple events, including strong performances during gameplay portions. Attending the Hawaii State Games and the Hawaii Preseason Invitational this year, he posted steady metrics highlighted by barrel filled BP rounds and sound defensive mechanics behind the dish. Most notably, he lowered his 60 time from June to October to a 7.07, nearly three tenths faster than his previous mark. As he heads into his senior season, the left handed hitting catcher is a name to keep a close eye on. The article below will highlight Hatayama's metrics, videos, and more.
