Team Preview
The Glenmora Wildcats enter the 2026 season with momentum, maturity, and a renewed sense of purpose. After a 17-win campaign and a second-round playoff appearance in 2025, Coach Gary Ashworth’s group returns a strong core that has doubled down on development—especially in the weight room.
The Wildcats spent their summer committed to “The U” workout program and have continued to build strength, explosiveness, and overall athleticism since returning to campus in August. With pitching, defense, and competitiveness serving as the foundation, Glenmora believes this year’s club has the potential to take a meaningful step forward and make a late-season run.
The biggest point of emphasis heading into 2026 is increasing offensive production. Improving their execution in baserunning, bunting, and situational hitting will be key if the Wildcats want to take the next leap in postseason play.
Team Strengths
Pitching & Defense – The clear identity of the program. Glenmora expects to keep opponents’ run production low with a trusted staff and a dependable defense behind them.
Competitiveness – A gritty group that takes pride in playing with edge and energy.
Strength & Conditioning – A major focus this offseason, resulting in significant gains across the roster thanks to The U workout program.
Team Weaknesses / Areas for Improvement
Offensive Consistency – The Wildcats are working to take a step forward at the plate.
Short-Game Execution – Bunting and baserunning will be crucial components as Glenmora looks to manufacture more runs in 2026.
Top Returning Players
-Junior Brayden Holloway
2025 Accolades: District MVP, All-Region, LBCA All-State, All-Cenla
Holloway returns as one of the most decorated underclassmen in Class B and the on-field heartbeat of the Wildcats. The junior has attacked the offseason with purpose—adding weight, explosiveness, and polish to his game on both sides of the ball. A recent selection to the Luccini summer team, Holloway is poised to anchor both the lineup and pitching staff once again while emerging as a true leader for Glenmora.
-Junior Nolen Sweat
2025 Accolades: All-District
A multi-sport athlete whose work ethic sets the tone for the program, Sweat refuses to lose developmental time even during basketball season—arriving before school to ensure he gets his reps. His consistency is his calling card: steady defensive play, reliable offensive production, and competitor’s mindset. Expect him to continue being one of the Wildcats’ most dependable two-way contributors.
-Junior Wyatt Gillispie
2025 Accolades: All-District, All-Region
Gillispie’s offseason has been defined by progress. He’s made jumps across all his weight-room maxes, and that added strength has translated to noticeable improvements in every phase of his game. Entering his junior year with confidence and maturity, Gillispie looks ready to take on an expanded role and deliver his best season yet.
Season Expectations & Final Thoughts
Glenmora believes it has the pieces to make noise in 2026. With a strong junior core, improved physicality, and the competitive edge that has long defined Coach Ashworth’s program, the Wildcats expect to build on last year’s success and position themselves to get hot at the right time.
The goal is simple: Put a product on the field that the school and community can be proud of, play their best baseball down the stretch, and make a deep push in the final 15 days of the season.
If the offense takes the expected step forward, Glenmora could be a dangerous postseason team in Class B.
