Will Brick C / 3B / Christian Brothers, TN / 2027Will Brick immediately became the top high school catcher from the 2026 class upon reclassifying earlier this fall. The conversation about the No. 1 ranked player in the state started heating up following his strong showing in the Prep Baseball Future Games and the Prep Baseball All-American Game this summer. His incredible power and elite defense behind the plate make him a valuable target for most MLB teams. His late first round and Competitive Balance A projection will make Brick an almost unfair advantage for the contender’s picks. The Yankees would be a prime destination should Brick fall to the Competitive Balance rounds with their lack of a single catcher in their top 30 prospects and Ben Rice moving to first base. The Arizona Diamondbacks would also be a favorite for Brick with their inconsistent catching depth in their farm system, and Gabriel Moreno hitting free agency in the next two years. Wherever he gets drafted, he immediately secures the future for any contender looking to succeed long-term. (Other Suitors: New York Mets, Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Guardians) Player Comparison: J.T. Noah Wilson OF / RHP / McCallie, TN / 2026Noah Wilson has the potential to be a five-tool asset for the team that drafts him. The McCallie outfielder brings hard contact to all fields, elite speed on the basepaths, and impressive defense to pair with his speed. The Prep Baseball All-American tops out at a 105 MPH Max exit velocity and a 6.44-second 60-yard dash time. These stats make him a top contender for a left-handed outfield bat in the mid-late second round. The rebuilding St. Louis Cardinals will be looking to add some OF bats after trading for significant minor league pitching depth this offseason. Wilson fits the Cardinals' development process well and will be a great option in an outfield with no necessary locks at the position. The Kansas City Royals would also be a great fit for Wilson as they continue to search for consistency at the plate in a struggling lineup. Wilson looks to be a late-round steal for this draft class with his high ceiling potential. (Other Suitors: New York Mets, Cleveland Guardians) Player Comparison: Jackson Merrill |
