December 17, 2025
The fall has come to a close and the off season is in full swing. The class of 2027 recruiting window is open and we have seen a ton of players from the state fly off the board, but we are just scratching the surface of the commitments we will see over the next 6 months.

As always, the evaluation process is a fluid and ongoing process with multiple viewings in order to get the best feel for players abilities. It’s important to note that as players continue their development some show marked improvement at a much more rapid pace. That doesn’t indicate that other players got worse or went backwards, it’s just how player development works. As the year unfolds, players make improvements and new prospects pop up on the radar expanding the Preo Baseball rankings universe. In addition to the evaluations of players, our scouts, both those in Georgia and nationally, have also had multiple discussions with each other to review our individual lists and then make adjustments based on what we've each seen.

Notable Key Risers
Jack Johnson, RHP/OF, Harrison (22nd to 12th)
While it's not the biggest jump overall, Johnson comes off an outstanding summer and fall with his eyes set on the top 10 in the near future. Excellent mover with athleticism and 6.6 speed in a 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame that still holds plenty of projection. Works out a lower three-quarters slot with heavy dosage of sinker/slider with above-average upside in the combo. Worked up to 92 in the fall with heavy arm-side run and more to come while displaying innate feel to spin (2900+ RPM) with late bite on the low-80s SL that pairs extremely well. Changeup is a solid third offering at 78-80 with present feel to land for strikes. Johnson missed his entire sophomore HS season after transferring to Harrison, and the Troy commit is set to be one of the biggest x-factors for the Hoyas in breakout junior season.
Trip Fowler, RHP, Greenbrier (73rd to 34th)
The breakout year for Fowler ended with some standout performances in the fall and now finds himself among the top 10 RHP in the class. Lean, high-waisted 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame holds some of the most projection in the class with advanced ability to repeat out of a higher three-quarters slot. Fastball has carrying life at 87-90 with more to come as the frame continues to mature and has the aptitude to create in-zone misses. Flashes two breaking balls with the mid-70s 12/6 curveball that holds present above-average command and sharp slider at 78-81 that’s become a swing-and-miss offering as of late. Changeup tunnels well at 78-80 with some late fade and rounds out the mix well. Command has been the bread and butter for Fowler with the stuff catching up in a hurry, and the uncommitted junior could hold P4 potential heading into a huge spring with Greenbrier.
Will Richardson, LHP/1B, North Oconee (340th to 60th)
We had a feeling Richardson was going to be on to click this spring after seeing him at our Athens Summer ID. He made a big splash this fall and committed to Alabama shortly after. The 6-foot-4 lefty is just scratching the surface of what he can do on the mound and will be a big piece for North Oconee this spring.
Luke Donaldson, RHP/UTL, River Ridge (349th to 63rd)
Donaldson showed off the competitiveness all summer long with some high pressure innings in the National Championship. Everything started to click this fall when we saw him into the upper 80’s with a projectable frame that is just going to get better over time. We could see him be a low 90’s arm in the coming years with a chance to be one of the guys on the mound for a talented River Ridge squad this spring.
Jackson Loy, C, Darlington (76th to 63rd)
The development from Loy has been really impressive, especially at the dish. The defensive skills already stood out this summer, but with some added strength he has taken his game to the next level and recently committed to UAB. There is a lot to like from the switch hitting catcher, with more on the way and a chance to be an impact player as soon as he steps on campus with the advanced catching ability behind the plate.
Thatcher Dumford, OF, Denmark (178th to 69th)
Spring Picks to Click will be coming out after the Preseason events, but Dumford is an early candidate to have a breakout year for a Denmark Danes team that has a chance to go deep into the GHSA State Playoffs with a championship caliber line up on paper. There is real feel for the barrel with the ability to expand the zone and find ways to get on base. The power is to the pull side with a chance to put up some big power numbers this spring. There is sub 7.0 speed that will continue to tick down. Dumford checked all the boxes this fall and will look to cap off the breakout year in the spring of 2026.
Ford Monin, C, Westminster (221st to 78th)

Zazil Schoop, C, Trinity Christian (154th to 85th)
The Curaçao native was one of the biggest winners of the Fall and showcased a robust profile during the Fall Campus Tour at KSU. Boasts big-time strength in a physical 6-foot-0, 179-pound frame with present athleticism and well-connected RH cut. Very minimal wasted effort as he stays well-balanced and transfers weight extremely well through impact with immense impact in the barrel to match. Shows quiet, strong hands through the zone and stays compact while consistently keeping the barrel on-plane. 6.82 runner with plenty of athleticism in the crouch and present arm strength (1.88-1.96 pop). It’s a potent profile all-around and Schoop has a chance to make an early impact this Spring with Trinity Christian.
Bobby Bastek, SS, Mount Vernon (229th to 92nd)
We first got eyes on Bastek during the Spring where he was a key piece to the Mustangs playoff run. Bastek only continued to look the part throughout the Summer/Fall and now finds a massive jump up in the rankings. Tons of athleticism in a wiry 5-foot-10 frame with high floor tools throughout. The RHH stays compact through the zone with present barrel feel and strong bat-to-ball skills. Offers a strong glove with excellent instincts up-the-middle and a chance to stick in the dirt long-term. Poised to hold a major role this upcoming spring and will be a good addition to a recruiting class at multiple levels.
Alex Ehlenbach, OF, Harrison (208th to 102nd)
2027 OF Alex Ehlenbach continues to make a statement this Fall circuit.

Jon Walker Brown, 1B, Lassiter (347th to 154th)
The fall breakout for Brown was real as the uncommitted junior was hitting massive extra-base hits in what seemed like every weekend. A physical 6-foot-3, 205-pound frame generates huge strength from the ground up in a well-connected LH swing. Demonstrates advanced pitch recognition with ability to get his barrel to the call in any count for impact that can lead to a quality hit tool down the line. Poised for a massive role for Lassiter this upcoming spring and could have double-digit HR potential in an everyday role.
Kai Hernandez-Gambill, LHP/1B, Benedictine (222nd to 173rd)
A steady performer across multiple settings over the last two years, Hernandez-Gambill is quietly developing a strong two-way profile in a physical 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame. Pitchability is real from the left-side with strikes from the full mix while hiding the ball extremely well. Fastball lives in the mid-to-high 80s with some arm-side life to create in-zone misses. Curveball and changeup both work in the mid-to-high 70s with feel to land both for consistent strikes and soft contact. At the plate, Hernandez shows present above-average raw power in a line-drive heavy approach. Lets the hands work through the zone well while generating significant strength from a stout lower half. Will be one of the biggest pieces for Benedictine squad that could have the most talent they've had in recent years.
Tyler Rogers, SS, Hebron Christian (271st to 231st)
The uncommitted junior put together a strong all-around showing during the Fall Campus Tour at UNG. Athletic and broad-chested at 5-foot-11, 168-pounds with present tools throughout the profile. Quick toe tap trigger allows the RHH to stay balanced through the zone with excellent feel for the barrel and ability to spray the ball to all-fields. A 6.75 runner with good range, soft hands, and delivers accurate throws across the diamond. Rogers looks poised to build off a strong year in ‘25 and carry a huge role for the Lions ‘26.
Notable Key Additions
Jordan Johnson, RHP, Georgia Premier
The 2027 class gets stronger with the addition of Johnson who reclassifies from the 2026 class after transferring from Loganville to Georgia Premier Academy. Big-bodied 6-foot-3, 205-pounds with low-90s velo and feel to land three pitches for strikes. Has a chance to be one of more intriguing uncommitted RHP in the class this spring and will have the chance to showcase it in a stacked rotation that Georgia Premier will deploy in the newly formed ABA.
Skyler Lee, C, North Paulding
The uncommitted junior was one of the stars of the campus tour series this fall and looks ready for a major role with North Paulding this spring. High-floor tools litter the profile in an athletic 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame. Shows budding feel for the barrel in a well-leveraged path that displayed ability to generate triple-digit EVs and easy pull-side carry. 7.0 runner with flexibility in the crouch and present arm strength that plays up from his accuracy. Chance to earn quite a few looks from colleges at all levels this spring.
Ethan King, MIF, Wesleyan
Out of the many standout performers this fall King was one of the top ones. He is going to be an intriguing follow this spring for a Wesleyan team that is going to be young, but full of talent. It is hard not to like the 6-foot-1, left-handed hitting shortstop. He performed in every setting over the summer and fall including one of the strongest tournaments of the year being the National Championship.
2027 3B Rylin Lyemance gets the barrel out front and on-plane as he fires this down the line for an RBI 2B 96 EV.

Casper Emory, OF, Clarke Central
Clarke Central has a chance to make some noise in Oconee County this spring, and offensively things might start with the uncommitted junior outfielder. Emory showed up to the UGA Campus Tour this fall and put on a show both in BP and game play with a loud RH stick. Fast hands paired with strong wrists create impressive bat speed in an uphill path that carries balls to the pull-side with minimal effort. Actions to play across the outfield with a long-term home in a corner likely.
Jake Bruney, SS, Mount Paran
Bruney consistently looked the part throughout the Fall during both gameplay and at the Fall Campus Tour as well. Athletic 6-foot-0, and 165-pounds in a high floor profile with more to project. Shows present barrel feel in a compact path and strong hands/wrists stand out with ability to use the whole field well. Shifts weight well through impact with excellent use of his lower half and ability to generate mid 90’s EV’s. A 6.86 runner with lateral quickness and present arm strength up-the-middle at the 6. Chance to provide an immediate impact with Mount Paran in a multitude of ways this upcoming Spring.
Luke Parrish, OF, Glynn Academy
2027 OF Luke Parrish

Fights through a good AB and shows a good 2K approach and singles up the middle. Long 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. @GATerrorPack // @VaporBaseball #PBClassic25 pic.twitter.com/Qk8V1RXgIf
Charlie Frederick, 1B, Midtown
The Midtown 1B simply just hit in each look throughout the Summer and Fall circuits. The LHH stays extremely simple with good balance and shows fluid, fast hands in-zone as he works from a compact path with present barrel feel. Great feel for the zone with minimal chase and excellent pitch recognition stand out as Frederick boasts quiet confidence at the dish in a mature all-fields approach. Armed with a strong feel to hit there is much more to project physically in a wiry 6-foot-1 frame with a potential breakout Spring on the horizon.
