Uncommitted Spotlight: '27 Chase Heid
December 22, 2025
With the spring season quickly approaching, our focus remains on uncommitted prospects in the Classes of 2026 and 2027. As these athletes enter their final years of high school, many talented upperclassmen remain available, some overlooked and others quietly flying under the radar, each searching for the right opportunity to compete at the next level.
In our Uncommitted Spotlight series, we will continue highlighting these prospects across our site and social media channels. Be sure to visit the Uncommitted Spotlight page under the ‘Players’ tab on the homepage to catch up on previous features as we move through the winter and preseason.”
We switch over to the 2027 class with Chase Heid, a top performer at the 2025 Future Games who continued to stand out throughout the year. Heid attended three events in 2025, making noticeable jumps in his metrics at each stop, a progression that ultimately earned him an invite to the top uncommitted event in the country. The left-handed hitter features relaxed, whippy actions in the box that translate to loud contact when he squares the ball up. Strong batting practice rounds at both the Top Prospect Games and the Future Games carried over into game action, highlighted by two triples at the Top Prospect Games and consistent loud contact at the Future Games, including the double shown in the videos below. Heid will be a name to know as he begins his Junior campaign with Mountain Ridge.
