TEAM OUTLOOK
The Lancaster Eagles head into the 2026 season looking to lean on their biggest strength, veteran pitching. After an appearance in the CIF Southern Section Division 7 Playoffs and 14–16 overall campaign in 2025, Lancaster returns a core group that gives the staff stability on the mound, with three pitchers back in the mix and several arms capable of filling meaningful roles. Continued development and consistency on the mound will be key as the Eagles look to take a step forward under head coach David Fischenich.
Offensively and defensively, the Eagles bring back four starters, led by C Cole Lewis (2026), who will provide a steady presence for an experienced pitching staff. OF/RHP Jaxon Whitaker (2027) adds athleticism and versatility while looking to make an impact as a two-way talent. The program is also encouraged by the emergence of underclassman LHP Freddy Orozco (2028), a young arm who will add further depth and upside to the seasoned staff. If Lancaster’s returning pitchers can set the tone early and the offense matures around its experienced core, the Eagles have the pieces in place to be a competitive and resilient group in 2026.
Quote from the Coach
“We have a mix of seniors and new players on the varsity roster. Given their experience, our veteran arms should keep us competitive in games.”
