2026 OUTLOOK

+ Anderson County enters the 2026 season with high expectations after a strong 31–13 campaign that ended with a trip to the TSSAA State Tournament. Under head coach Josh Boynton, the Mavericks have built a reputation as one of the more consistent programs in Class AAA, and much of last year’s success returns to the field. With a veteran-heavy core and multiple two-way contributors, Anderson County is positioned to once again contend in District 4.

Offensively, the Mavericks bring back a deep and experienced infield led by Roane State CC commit Blake Lowe, along with Wil Ridenour, Clay Fletcher, and Daniel Unthank, each capable of impacting the game at the plate while also providing value on the mound. Behind the dish, Nolan Benson returns as a steady presence and key piece of the lineup, while Jeremiah Owens gives Anderson County athleticism and production in the outfield. This group provides balance, versatility, and lineup flexibility, allowing the Mavericks to apply pressure throughout the order.

On the mound, Anderson County returns a reliable and proven pitching staff. Ridenour and Unthank headline the rotation, while Pikeville commit Kris Pelliccio and Fletcher give the Mavericks multiple right-handed options who can handle meaningful innings. With added depth from young arms and position players like Jackson Harris and a promising underclass class that includes Landry Sharp, Reese Young, and Levi Skeen, the Mavericks have both immediate impact and long-term upside. With experience, depth, and postseason confidence, Anderson County looks poised for another deep run in Class AAA in 2026.
