The Lake Charles Preseason ID is set to take place on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff, LA.  This event will feature a collection of promising uncommitted prospects from Louisiana's 2026-2029 graduating classes, each aiming to display the progress they have made over the course of the fall season.

Our Preseason ID events in January represents a crucial time in the baseball calendar and an opportunity for players to show off their offseason gains.  Players, coaches, and scouts alike are constantly on the move in search of high-level competitiion and meaningful exposure.  At Prep Baseball, our staff is committed to that same pursuit - identifying and evaluating talent while helping athletes position themselves for future recruiting opportunites.  Our Preseason Tour of open showcases is structured to provide accessible, local events for players of all graduation years and skill levels, allowing them to perform in fron of our scouting staff and to ensure their Prep Baseball profile remains current.

Additionally, all Preseason ID events serve as evaluations for potential invitations to our invite-only evens such as the Louisiana State Games, Louisiana Top Prospect Games, and the Prep Baseball Future Games, which is the premier recruiting event of the summer.  Scheduled for the end of July 2026 at the LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, GA, the Future Games will spotlight the nation's top uncommitted players in the 2028 class.  The Senior Future Games, for the top uncommitted 2027 graduates and the Junior Future Games for the top 2030 & 2031 graduates, run in parallel with the Future Games at the LakePoint Sports Complex as well.

EVENT SCHEDULE & ITINERARY

Location: Sam Houston High School - 880 Sam Houston Jones Parkway, Moss Bluff, LA 70611

+ Check-In Times

• Position Player & Two-Way Players: 1:30 PM-2:00 PM | Pitcher-Only's may check-in at 4:45 PM
• Pre-Event Introduction & Active Stretching: 2:00 PM-2:20 PM
• 60-Yard Dash & Defense: 2:20-3:35 PM
• Batting Practice: 3:35-4:50 PM
• Bullpens: 4:50-6:00 PM (Catchers Stay!)

Sam Houston High School has a turf infield.  Players need to have tennis shoes, turfs, or molded cleats, as NO SPIKES will be allowed on the turf infield.  No sunflower seeds or gum are allowed on the field or in the dugouts.  Players will receive a numbered Prep Baseball shirt and a Prep Baseball hat.  Players are encouratged to bring their own means of hydration.

• Athletic Testing (60-Yard Dash)
• Offensive Evaluations (Exit Velocity, Mechanical Evaluations, Trackman Data recorded)
• Defensive Evaluations (Arm Strength, Agility/Range, Positional Analysis/Profile)

Registered Pitchers & Catchers

• Pitching Evaluations (15-18 pitch bullpen, fastball and secondary pitches from both the windup and stretch)
• Mechanical Evaluation
• Trackman pitch velocity, movement, spin analysis, and more
• Catcher Evaluations During Bullpens (Receiving/Pitch Presentation, Blocking/Mobility)
