ROSEVILLE, CALIF. - Prep Baseball in Northern California is undergoing a transformation, marked by a significant increase in visibility. This new era features comprehensive coverage, in-depth narratives, and a dedicated effort to scout talent across the entire area.
The scope has broadened dramatically, moving past a focus on just a few major cities to an interconnected network. This network actively tracks the sport from Sacramento through the Bay Area, extending north to Chico and south through the Central Valley down to Fresno and Visalia. This expansion is fundamentally altering how athletes are scouted, how teams are assessed, and how the Northern California region is perceived within the wider world of baseball.
With a full year of experience in the region, one thing has become clear, the talent in Northern California is unreal. In a state as large as California, there are countless players who have taken advantage of opportunities to put themselves on the map, whether as underclassmen just beginning their journey or seniors ready to take the next step. Across the NorCal landscape, the consistent blend of raw ability and gritty competitiveness continues to show why this area is so highly respected and valued at the prep level.
Talent alone can only take a player so far; it’s often the smaller details of the game that keep someone in the lineup. One of the most consistent traits seen among NorCal athletes is toughness, the ability to flush an error, slow the game down, and lock back in on the next pitch. It’s going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts, then impacting the game defensively, or stepping up for a fourth at-bat and executing a game-winning sacrifice bunt. Those moments matter. Our staff takes pride in recognizing those details and doing everything possible to help athletes find the right fit at the next level.
That growing coverage in Northern California helped turn the idea of a NorCal Future Games team in Georgia into a reality. The most rewarding part of the Future Games experience was providing these athletes with an opportunity that could genuinely change their lives. The results have spoken for themselves, commitments have continued to roll in, and both California teams have seen tremendous success, combining for nearly 25 Division I commitments. It’s a clear reflection of the talent, toughness, and preparation that defines the region.
OVER THE YEAR
Take a look at some events over the course of the 2025 year. If anyone remembers the NorCal PSAS at Ohlone College last year.....lots of sunshine that day!
In between events, there was a ton of high school coverage of athletes all around the state. Here's a look at some of the loaded talent that was displayed.
1. Chase Cotton hitting 94 MPH as a freshman.
