Rounding out the bottom half of our Top 10 Stories of 2025, we head to LakePoint Sports for one of the most impactful recent additions to the Future Games calendar: the Senior Future Games. Held at the beginning of the Future Games week in Cartersville, the format features a full workout followed by three round-robin showcase games over the span of two days, creating what is arguably the final major stage for uncommitted 2026 prospects as they prepare to enter their senior year.

This year, Kentucky and Indiana joined forces for Team Midwest, combining talent from the Bluegrass and Hoosier States to compete against some of the top uncommitted players from across the country. The result was a competitive roster that delivered strong performances throughout the week and left a lasting impression on all coaches in attendance.

At the opening workout, multiple prospects posted career-best numbers across several measurables, highlighting summer gains and setting the stage for a high-energy stretch of gameplay. The on-field action followed suit, with contributions coming from everyone on the roster. Offensively, the group showed the ability to apply pressure in a variety of ways — quality at-bats, run production and even a few homers. Defensively, the squad put their athleticism on display while the pitching staff did its job in limiting some of the best hitters across the country.

The week reinforced the depth and development within both Kentucky and Indiana, and it didn’t take long for that exposure to translate into recruiting momentum. Following their time at the Senior Future Games, 23 of the 25 players on Team Midwest have since committed to play college baseball. The committed crop of players includes 9 Kentucky prospects and 14 from Indiana, with commitments spanning all levels of college ball. It’s a strong representation of both states and a clear indication that the Midwest continues to produce high-level talent capable of competing on a national stage.

Team Midwest commitments include:

The wide range of commitments reflects not only individual talent but the effectiveness of the Senior Future Games format in connecting players with the right opportunities. While most of the roster has found a home at the next level, a couple uncommitted prospects remain that used the event to elevate their profiles heading into the spring.

Bryce Russell, a physical and athletic right-handed bat from Adair County High School, enters 2026 as one of the more intriguing uncommitted hitters in the state. Coming off a strong junior year where he posted 37 hits, 26 RBIs, 8 home runs, and a .356 average, Russell backed it up with standout metrics at the Senior Future Games. He reached a 100 mph max exit velocity, ran a 6.70 second 60, and posted an impressive 3.78 30-yard split. Russell’s ability to handle velocity is evident both in-game and through advanced metrics , with bat speeds up to 78 mph and a long, efficient plane through the zone. Entering the spring, he ranks as Kentucky’s No. 3 third baseman and No. 46 overall prospect in the 2026 class.

Brooks Hendrix, a 6’0” 168 lb outfielder out of Highlands High School, continues to trend upward after one of the most productive junior seasons in the state. In just 90 at-bats, Hendrix recorded 52 hits, 18 extra-base hits, drove in 23 runs, and struck out only three times, finishing with an impressive .578 batting average. His offensive profile is built around elite bat-to-ball skills and mature at-bats, while defensively he’s a smooth mover with above-average range. Hendrix runs a 6.53 second 60, has bat speeds climbing into the 80 mph range, and has produced exit velocities into the upper 90s. He enters the season ranked No. 36 overall in Kentucky and No. 8 among outfielders in the 2026 class.

In just a few short years, the Senior Future Games have quickly become one of the most important evaluation opportunities on the calendar for Kentucky prospects. With 23 of 25 Team Midwest players already committed, the event’s impact is clear. By partnering with Indiana and showcasing talent on a national stage, Team Midwest confirmed the depth of both states. As the 2026 class turns toward senior seasons, the Senior Future Games continue to serve as a launching point.
