The 2026 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The BF Terry Rangers enter the 2026 season looking to build on the momentum of a 2025 campaign that saw the program break multiple individual and team records en route to a 12-15-2 record and a trip to the Bi-District round in the playoffs. While the team bid farewell to key player Clayton Ohl, they return a deep and experienced roster that is well-positioned for a steady climb toward the postseason.

The team’s core is anchored by a significant veteran presence, featuring eight returning position players and a total of eight returning pitchers (five starters and three relievers). Leading this group is senior OF Mathew Eben, a highly decorated player who earned THSCA 5A Super Elite and THSBCA 2nd Team All-State honors in 2025. Other key returners include senior SS Geraldo Rodriguez, an All-District selection, along with senior C Jayden Robertson, junior INF/RHP Aiden Lopez, and junior UTL Tristin Cameron.

Complementing this veteran core is a group of promising newcomers and young talent. Freshmen OF Jace Morales, INF/RHP RJ Torres, and LHP/OF Jasiah Buentello are expected to make immediate impacts as they begin their high school careers. With a focus on strong culture and team chemistry, the Rangers aim to refine their defense and maintain a relentless offensive approach as they work toward another playoff run in the state’s 5A class.
