Illinois 2025 Winners: 2027 Position Players

With the end of the year right around the corner, we wanted to take a moment to highlight players who stood out to our staff throughout the year - whether it was at an event, a tournament, or a game in the spring. Today, we continue our rollout with a look at some of the position player winners from the 2027 class.

Kaden Wasniewski RHP / 3B / McHenry, IL / 2027From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: INF Kaden Wasniewski (McHenry) is the top-ranked Illinois player in attendance, ranked No. 2 in the state, and he will be a must-see player on both sides of the ball. Listed at 6-foot, 175-pounds with lean strength, there is still more to come and dream on in the frame. He had a quality round of BP with a longer and flat swing through the zone, peaking at 93.7 mph for his EV. He’s also a premier athlete, cruising to a 6.54 in the 60. GAMEPLAY: The top ranked two-way in the Midwest stole the show in the first game with a premium look on the mound, but he also looks to be a sure-handed corner infielder with an athletic right-handed swing, pairing with quality awareness of the zone with minimal chase. PITCHING: It was pure dominance when Wasniewski took the mound, striking out four over two hitless and scoreless frames, also not allowing a walk. The fastball explodes out of his hand with over 2,700 rpm, sitting 92-95 mph with more likely on the way. He showed a tight slider to pair off the fastball with sharp bite and feel, 79-83 mph. Flashed a power changeup at 83-86 mph with arm-speed, late fade, collected whiffs.” |

Brady Cunningham 3B / RHP / Brother Rice, IL / 2027From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: The No. 4 player in Illinois, CIF Brady Cunningham (Brother Rice) was a day one winner from the workout, and he’s one to circle for the rest of the week. Listed at 6-foot-2, 218-pounds, he’s a premium athlete especially for his size, turning in a 6.67 in the 60. The right-handed bat has shown incredibly well in-game for our staff with minimal swing/miss and loud results, and there’s easy strength in his simple swing with a peak EV of 101.6 mph (76.7 mph avg. bat-speed; 22.3 mph avg. hand-speed). He can play either corner infield position with steady hands and a strong arm. GAMEPLAY: Two of the loudest barrels of the entire week both came off the bat of Cunningham, with a 107 mph single in the first game and a 105 mph lineout in the final game. The bat-to-ball is premium with minimal swing/miss or chase, and there’s plus power likely as he continues to mature physically. Motor really stands out in-game with hard run-times down the line. PITCHING: On the mound, the physical right-hander attacked in the zone with his fastball and curveball, not allowing a run over his two innings of work. The fastball played up to 90.5 mph, sitting 88-89 mph with carry up in the zone. The curveball showed depth and over-the-top shape in the mid-70s.” |

Jacsen Tucker SS / 3B / Oswego East, IL / 2027From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: Staying on the subject of high-ceiling infielders, INF Jacsen Tucker (Oswego East) headlines that list. He has a high-waisted frame you can easily dream on, standing in at a long-levered 6-foot-4, 180-pounds with much more room to add strength. He had one of the louder rounds of BP from the Illinois group, peaking at 101 mph with a flat, athletic stroke. He really stands out on the dirt with natural, athletic actions - showing clear feel for the position with range to either side, clean/crisp transfers and timing through the baseball. Must-see name for the Illinois group. GAMEPLAY: Few people garnered as much helium as Tucker did after the first night of gameplay, as he launched two home runs in the nightcap - one pull-side and one to the opposite field. He profiles on the left side of the infield, but he also showed the ability to move into the outfield where he stands out with athletic actions and range.” |

Tristan Steger C / 3B / St. Laurence, IL / 2027From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: C Tristan Stegar (St. Laurence) is a physical left-handed hitter whose prospect status continues to rise with each look. He’s physically built at 6-foot-2, 188-pounds and there’s still more room to add on strength. He creates easy loud results with his left-handed swing, staying balanced through impact with loose wrists, peaking at 105.3 mph for his EV while averaging 90 mph - also lifting his furthest ball 398’. He has impressive BLAST metrics to pair, averaging 73 mph for his bat-speed and 21.5 mph for his hand-speed. Quality catch/throw behind the plate with an above-average arm to pair (T77 mph; 2.01 pop-time). GAMEPLAY: Steger was far and away one of the biggest winners at the plate for Team Illinois, finishing the week at a 6-for-7 clip with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. The approach is highly mature, using the whole field with strength while also not expanding the zone, simple operation. Quality catch/throw behind the plate, works hard in-game and is a vocal leader.” |

Tyler Gluting LHP / OF / Metea Valley, IL / 2027From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: OF Tyler Gluting (Metea Valley) will also be taking the mound for Team Illinois later in the week, but showed well as a position player in the workout portion. Standing in at 5-foot-11, 159-pounds, there’s still plenty of room to add strength to his lean frame in the coming years. He showed a fluid and loose lefty stroke in BP, working on the barrel up the middle of the field with a peak EV of 98.4 mph. He’s an athletic mover in the outfield with speed to pair (6.99-60), and he has plenty of arm-strength to go with it (T91 mph OF). The No. 6 ranked player in the state, Gluting will be an intriguing follow on both sides of the ball this week. GAMEPLAY: Gluting took some impressive swings throughout the week, showing looseness in his stroke with some feel for the barrel - finishing 3-for-7 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. PITCHING: He gave an extremely loud look on the mound, topping at 94.7 mph with the fastball and flashing a wipeout breaking ball around 80 mph. Though the strikes were scattered, it was an eye-opening showing of the pure arm-talent Gluting possesses.” |

Andrew Talbert OF / SS / Byron, IL / 2027From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: INF/OF Andrew Talbert (Byron) had one of the loudest showings of the day. Ranked No. 12 in the state, the tools have always been loud - and he showed off one of the strongest arms of the day by hitting 97 mph from the outfield and 91 mph from the infield. The right-handed hitter has an athletic and compact swing that works to stay on top of the baseball, peaking at 96.3 mph for his EV while averaging 91 mph (T340’). He’s a swiss army knife in the field with athleticism to play both on the infield and in the outfield, showcasing fluid footwork and range in both spots with the actions to pair. Also a 6.69 runner in the 60, Talbert is a sparkplug type that will be a lot of fun to watch this week. GAMEPLAY: Talbert was a winner right out of the gate, setting the tone in our first game by taking a 93 mph fastball early in the count up the middle for a single. He also had a triple in the third game, nearly leaving the yard to left/center. There’s real versatility with the glove, showing the actions and arm to stick on the left side of the infield, and he also showed well in the outfield with quick bursts and the ability to cover ground. Consistently gave above-average run-times down the line, plays the game hard and is a well-rounded prospect with tools to pair.” |

Blake Ragsdale SS / 2B / Lyons Township, IL / 2027From 3/06/25: “INF Blake Ragsdale (Lyons Township, 2027; Texas Christian commit) continues to look the part as one of the state’s top prospects. He has a trim, yet strong build, standing in at 5-foot-11, 168-pounds. The right-handed hitter showcased athletic hands throughout his round, working on top of the baseball with some feel to work on the barrel and use the whole field, reaching up to 95 mph for his peak EV while averaging 88 mph. He’s long been one of the better defenders in the state and that has not changed at all, boasting athletic actions with easy range up the middle, presenting a confident glove with feel for the position. His arm is plenty strong to stay on the left side of the infield as well, topping out at 89 mph across. 7.07 runner in the 60.” |

Kash VanHouten SS / RHP / Canton, IL / 2027From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: INF/OF Kash Van Houten (Canton) will be a sure-fire name to follow this week, coming in as the No. 7 ranked player in Illinois. There’s some present strength and athleticism in his 6-foot-1, 181-pound frame, but there’s surely still more room to add. At the plate, he showed a flatter swing with length through the zone and a peak EV of 96.6 mph. He has plenty of arm strength to stick on the left side of the infield (T88 mph), and he has the actions to stick there moving forward as well with confident hands. He has the versatility to hop in the outfield, and the arm is even stronger from out there (T91 mph). 6.93 runner in the 60. GAMEPLAY: VanHouten was a bit unlucky at times with some barreled up outs, but he continued to look like an athletic up the middle prospect to follow. PITCHING: He gave a loud look in game two of the week, firing two scoreless innings with just one hit allowed, no runs, two strikeouts and one walk. The fastball played in the 87-90 mph range, topping at 91 mph with ride and life at the top of the zone. The slider was a quality secondary offering, spinning over 2,400 rpm while playing in the mid-70s. He also flashed feel for a fading changeup around 81-82 mph. Attacked in the zone with all three offerings.” |

Ryan Wilberding C / OF / Libertyville, IL / 2027From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: C Ryan Wilberding (Libertyville) is another physical right-handed bat to follow this week, and he’s currently the No. 18 ranked player in the state. He has a strong build at 6-foot, 203-pounds, boasting rounded shoulders and a developed lower-half. The hit tool is very prominent with Wilberding, and that was on full display in BP with a peak EV of 101.1 mph, averaging 91.6 mph with length through the zone and loose wrists. He has quality catch/throw from behind the plate, topping at 82 mph with a pop-time of 1.90. GAMEPLAY: Wilberding showed well defensively and should be a backstop to follow moving forward. He works to present pitches around the zone for strikes with soft hands, and the arm-strength really stands out in-game with life and carry. Though he didn’t have much to show for it this week, the bat has long been a performer in-game with extra-base power.” |

Anthony Cartolano OF / Brother Rice, IL / 2027From 5/14/25: “Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 46 in the state but should be making a big climb in the rankings update coming soon. Compact, muscle-bound 5-foot-9, 190-pound frame. Started in center and hit out of the two-hole in all three games. Advanced defender in the outfield, ultra-quick feet and covers ground easily, excellent reads off the bat, explosive first step, made a diving sprawled out save on a ball destined for the gap, proceeded to get up and fire a strike to second and make it a close play. Offensively, continues to make big strides. Aggressive look to his overall game which translates offensively. Aggressive controlled swings, feel for the barrel, present bat strength and works gap-to-gap. Short and direct to the ball. His 6.81 60 time plays way up on the field. Was getting elite runs times during the Wednesday matchup against Mount Carmel; 4.18 on an infield single and 3.82 on a bunt, also 11.66 seconds from home to third on an inside-the-park homer. Multi-sport athlete who has really started to come into his own this spring. Need to know 2027 name heading into the summer. FINAL LINE: 3-for-9, HR, 2B, 4 RBI, SB, 2BB.” |

Cole Brent OF / LHP / Normal University, IL / 2027From 8/05/25: “OF Cole Brent (Normal University, 2027) would continue to cement himself as a must-follow left-handed bat within the state’s rising junior class. Presenting a narrow, athletic with a short & simple stride, Brent would show athletic hands and a present for the barrel. Took a quality round of batting practice, produced a max exit velocity of 102.1 mph and an average of 95.2 mph. Also showed athletic tools that consistently showed well throughout the event. Produced a 6.67-second 60-yard dash and a 28 inch vertical jump. Athletic 5-foot-11, 183-pound frame.” |

Carson Trivellini SS / 2B / Crystal Lake South, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 20 / POS: 6
From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: INF Carson Trivellini (Crystal Lake South) comes in as the No. 17 ranked player in Illinois, and he’s a high-ceiling infielder to keep an eye on this week. He has a highly projectable and athletic frame, standing in at 6-foot-2, 187-pounds. The right-handed swing is simple and balanced, delivering his furthest ball 345’. He’s a fluid and natural defender with crisp/clean actions, and his arm plays athletically up to 85 mph across. GAMEPLAY: Trivellini was one of the top performers with the bat all weekend, showing the ability to handle the premium velocity with quality bat-to-ball skills, finishing 4-for-7 with an RBI, two runs scored and a walk. The actions on the infield really stand out, and he will surely be able to stick on the dirt at the next level.” |

Omar Avalos Jr OF / Father McGivney, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 21 / POS: 4
From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: OF Omar Avalos (Father McGivney) is a sparkplug-type player to check out this week. He’s a proven in-game performer for our staff with sneaky strength in his swing, and he wore out the barrel in his round of BP, peaking at 91.5 mph with an average of 85 mph. He’s an athletic defender in the outfield with some bounce, and he’s also a 6.76 runner in the 60. GAMEPLAY: Ovalos had a quality weekend at the plate, including earning Team Select MVP honors for his 2-for-2 day with a double in Game Two. He utilized his athleticism and played strong in the field throughout the week, playing three clean games in the outfield while showing the ability to cover ground and read the ball well off the bat.” |

Jazarris Mackmore Jr OF / 1B / Marian Catholic, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 24 / POS: 5
From 4/23/25: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 75 in the state. Athletic and advanced 6-foot-1, 192-pound frame. Batted fifth and played right field for the Spartans. His athleticism stood out on both sides of the ball, most notably showing easy range and foot speed in the outfield, while also posting a home-to-first time of 4.37 from the right side. He showed a patient approach and reached base three times in the game, while collecting two hits. He has a flat path and loose hands. A name to follow throughout the spring.” |

Keegan Seipp C / 1B / Triad, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 3
From 7/26/25: “FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES: Staying on the topic of physical bats, C/CIF Keegan Seipp (Triad) fits that exact mold. There’s all sorts of juice in the left-handed swing with hand-speed to pair (22 mph avg.), and he showed a natural feel to lift the baseball with authority (T99 mph EV; T382’). He has a physical 6-foot-3, 211-pound frame, and he has some defensive versatility with the ability to catch and play first. GAMEPLAY: Seipp was a bit unlucky this week as he barreled up multiple balls that ended up being outs. The physical 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame really stands out, and there is big power potential in his left-handed bat. Sure-handed defender over at first base with feel for the position.” |

Parker Roop SS / RHP / Normal University, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 7
From 7/08/25: “MIF Parker Roop (Normal University, 2027) is a name that emerged as a high-follow in Illinois’ 2027 class after a strong showing at the Peoria Preseason ID, followed by multiple in-game looks for the Pioneers this past spring. Roop stands in a high-upside frame with long, wiry levers and plenty of room for added strength still to come at 6-foot-1, 160-pounds. A left-handed hitter, he has all kinds of ease and fluidity in his swing, producing a max exit velocity of 95.6 mph (avg. 86.7 mph). He showed big improvement in his 60 time, running a 7.14 which was an increase from his 7.42 60 time in the winter. Defensively, he showed actions up the middle with a confident glove and a quality arm across the diamond (84 mph). Roop is an uncommitted name to keep an eye on the rest of his prep career.” |

From 8/05/25: “+ MIF Mikey Watson (Homewood-Flossmoor, 2027) was one of the biggest winners of the two-day event. Strong 5-foot-10, 186-pound athletic frame. The right-handed hitter operates from a balanced base with a small stride. Compact swing that is long through the zone. Watson posted a 6.55 60 time during Tuesday’s workout as well as an 85 mph infield velocity. Watson also had a max EV of 96.8 mph. An interesting 2027 MIF to keep an eye on.” |

Defensively, showed a developing profile on the grass with fringy reads to pair with routes that consistently played up thanks to foot speed that produced a 6.67-second 60-yard dash during the workout portion of the event. Athletic 5-foot-9, 175-pound frame with developing strength.” |

Evan Adamczewski 1B / OF / Maine South, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 38 / POS: 1
From 8/05/25: “+ 1B/OF Evan Adamczewski (Maine South, 2027) came away as the MVP of the entire event. Adamczewski went five-for-six at the plate while drawing one walk, driving in two runs, coming around to score two runs, and connecting on four extra-base hits. Adamczewski is listed with a strong 5-foot-9, 177-pound frame. The left-handed hitter has an intentful swing that has strength at impact with bat-speed. Adamczewski had an average exit velocity of 90.7 mph with a max exit velocity of 98.2 mph during the workout. He posted a 60 time of 6.80 while having a max run speed of 20.5 mph. The outfielder connected on a home run during the first game of the event. He would then follow up with three doubles on day two as he showed a gap-to-gap approach. Adamczewski was the biggest winner of the event and will be a name to keep an eye on in the future.” |

Cooper Johnson RHP / 1B / Lincoln-Way East, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 40 / POS: 12
From 8/05/25: “+ RHP/CIF Cooper Johnson (Lincoln-Way East, 2027) would show a quality two-way profile throughout the event. On the mound, he threw two scoreless innings in which he only allowed one hit while collecting three strikeouts. Worked from a clean, high 3/4s slot and showed a fastball up to 84 mph to go along with an upper-60s curveball with 11/7 shape and a fading mid-70s changeup. At the plate, he showcased a strong right-handed swing with loft-based intent, a present feel for the barrel, and bat speed that produced a 77.6 mph max and 73.8 mph average during the showcase portion of the event. Took a quality round of batting practice, producing a max exit velocity of 100.7 mph and an average of 94.3 mph. Strong 6-foot-3, 193-pound frame.” |

From 2/19/25: “An upside sophomore that stood out on the day was MIF Landon Clements (McHenry, 2027). Standing in at 5-foot-11, 155-pounds, Clements has a lean, high-waisted frame that still holds plenty of room to fill out. The left-handed hitter has a lot to like in his operation at the plate, controlling his levers well with a loose and whippy swing, reaching up to 90 mph for his max EV. Clements also displayed soft hands on the infield, utilizing a two-hand funnel into his body while also showing the ability to play on the move.” |

James McGrath OF / OF / St Francis - Wheaton, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 44 / POS: 9
From 5/12/25: “Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 58 in the state. Athletic 6-foot, 190-pound frame with present strength throughout. Batted fifth and played centerfield for the Spartans. Looked the part of a high-follow on both sides of the ball in this look. Offensively, the right-handed hitter showed a mature approach with minimal swing & miss with the ability to not expand the zone and draw walks. He also left the yard on a pull-side homer in his third at-bat, and nearly left the yard again his following at-bat for a double. He has a simple swing with loose wrists that allow him to manipulate the barrel and use the whole field. Defensively, he displayed the ability to be a field general in the outfield and take charge. He also showed to have range, paired with a strong arm that he showed pre-game. A name to continue to monitor this spring.” |

Aksel McKnight 3B / RHP / Libertyville, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 48 / POS: 3
From 8/05/25: “+ CIF Aksel McKnight (Libertyville, 2027) cemented himself as a must-know name in the state after his showing at the State Games. He was all over the barrel with a couple loud home runs, also reaching up to 102 mph for his EV in the workout with a 380’ max distance. On top of his impressive power display, he also showed above-average awareness and plate discipline with four walks. 6-foot-2, 216-pound frame with power projection, loose hands with strength at impact and the ability to lift pull-side.” |

From 8/05/25: “+ INF Julio Ayala (Montini, 2027) is an intriguing left-handed hitting infielder to know from the event. He has loose, athletic actions on both sides of the ball, and he was taking quality at-bats in our brief look, hunting early in the count and remaining on-time, getting consistent good swings off. Upside operation with loose hands, short to the ball and long through the zone. Smooth, athletic defender with the actions to stay on the dirt at the next level.” |

Zane Schneider 3B / 1B / Lemont, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 53 / POS: 5
From 8/05/25: “+ 3B Zane Schneider (Lemont, 2027) is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound infielder that flashed some juice in gameplay as well as in the showcase. Schneider sent a ball over the left-center fence in gameplay on Tuesday, the first of back to back home runs with Ty Springer. In the showcase, Schneider reached 98 mph on EV, averaged 92 mph with a max distance of 367’ and ran a 6.98 60-yard time. An impressive all around showing for the 2027 out of Lemont.” |

Evan Riiff SS / RHP / Lincoln-Way East, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 54 / POS: 11
From 7/24/25: “Athletic 5-foot-11, 182-pound frame. Riiff had a strong weekend at the plate collecting twelve hits and seven RBIs. Upright, balanced setup with quiet pre pitch movement. A simple, repeatable operation. Line drive approach, driving the ball to all fields. Can pick it up the middle. A RHH to keep an eye on moving forward. Riiff also impressed on the mound on Sunday as he struck out seven batters through five strong innings. The right-hander operates from a simple, easy delivery with a high leg lift while having a tall/fall approach. Long, easy arm action from a low ¾ slot. His fastball sat 82-84 with arm-side run. Riiff mixed in a slider that sat 70-71 with late actions that he threw with confidence.” |

From 8/05/25: “+ MIF Madden Cotts (Libertyville, 2027) showed some impressive tools throughout the two-day event. Athletic 5-foot-9, 159-pound frame with room to add strength. The left-handed hitter operates from a balanced base with a high leg lift. Compact swing that is quick through the zone. Cotts posted a 6.91 60 during Tuesday’s workout while having an 83 mph infield velo. He was able to show off his speed as he hustled out a triple on Wednesday.” |

Brandon Beasley OF / 1B / Oak Park-River Forest, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 57 / POS: 10
From 8/05/25: “+ OF/1B Brandon Beasley (Oak Park-River Forest, 2027) is a strong 6-foot, 202-pound left-handed hitter that was an overall winner in both the workout and gameplay portions of the event. He ran a 7.04 60 and posted a max EV of 102 mph during batting practice. Beasley also finished the event 3-for-7 with a home run and four RBI. He has a flat swing with loose hands that generate natural loft on the ball with easy power to all fields.” |

Mathew Crownhart LHP / OF / Father McGivney, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 60 / POS: 9
From 2/22/25: “OF/LHP Mathew Crownhart (Homeschool, 2027) first jumped onto our staff’s radar this past fall at the St. Louis Fall ID. It looks like Crownhart added some strength over the off-season, showing a leaner frame - 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. He’s a loose, easy mover down the mound with a long and quick arm path that works out of a low ¾ slot. The velocity on his fastball may not be eye-opening at the moment, but the operation, frame and arm speed suggest velo to come throughout the spring, summer and beyond. His change-up had heavy fade and depth at times, sitting in the low-70s, and his curveball showed short, horizontal action. Crownhart has continued to improve offensively as well. The left-handed hitter swung a loose and easy bat that produced line drives throughout his round. His exit velocity peaked at 92.4 mph (avg. 85.5), while posting a max distance of 337 feet (avg. 228 feet).” |

Rocco Triolo C / OF / Lincoln-Way East, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 62 / POS: 5
From 2/21/25: “C Rocco Triolo (Lincoln-Way East, 2027) will be an intriguing prospect to follow throughout the coming years. Listed at 5-foot-10, 177-pounds, Triolo has a lean and projectable build with sloped shoulders. The right-handed hitter took a strong round of BP, showing a compact and level operation with the intent to keep the ball on a line, reaching up to 93 mph for his peak EV while averaging 89.4 mph (T348’). He was also one of the top defenders on the day, showcasing a quick/clean glove-to-hand transfer and strong arm, reaching as low as 1.88 for his pop-time with a max velocity of 79 mph to second.” |

From 8/05/25: “+ RHP/OF Easton DeBernardi (Marquette Academy, 2027) was dominant in his two innings of work, grabbing four strikeouts with his fastball-slider combo. Trim, athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame. The right-hander worked with a rocker step into a medium leg kick, working in-line to the plate, with a full ¾ arm slot and present armspeed. DeBernardi finished with two scoreless innings, only allowing one hit and one walk with four strikeouts. He showed a high feel for spin with his two-pitch mix, landing both consistently for strikes. His fastball was 85-87 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,400-2,500+ rpm, and his slider showed a sharp sweeping action at 75-77 mph with a spin rate in the ranges of 2,500-2,600+ rpm and a HM max of -12.3”. A left-handed hitter as well, DeBernardi had a quality showing offensively at the event. During the workout, he maxed out at 99 mph off the bat with a 354 foot max batted ball distance, and also reached 89 mph from the outfield. He would go on to tally a couple hits throughout gameplay including a double.” |

The right-handed hitter had a stellar showing offensively in the contest, going 2-for-3 at the plate, and showcasing his pull-side power with a solo home run to left in the fifth. He operated out of an open stance, possessing loose and rhythmic hands, working into a short stride, with a slightly uphill bat path. An overall impressive performance from the sophomore.” |
