Fall Risers

Juan Diaz SS / IMG Academy, FL / 2027

Diaz has the look of a future big-time middle infielder, standing at a compact, athletic 5-foot-11, 174 pounds with strength already showing throughout the frame and strong all-around tools across the board.

A 6.5 runner with explosive first-step quickness, he can really pick it at shortstop—smooth actions, soft hands, and plenty of arm for the position. What sets him apart offensively is the rare switch-hitting ability with legitimate juice from both sides of the plate. There’s easy bat speed, feel for the barrel, and budding raw power that’s starting to translate into games as he continues to add strength.

Diaz made his commitment to Florida State this fall. Expect his name to keep climbing as the tools continue to play up.

Kinon Bastian OF / The First Academy, FL / 2027

Bastian is a physical, tooled-up outfielder who put together a loud 2025 campaign from start to finish. The big spring performance helped power The First Academy to a state title, and he carried that momentum seamlessly into the travel circuit—showcasing explosive raw power and speed that turned heads all summer and fall.

With present strength and room for more, the right-handed swing produces big exit velocities and easy carry to the pull side, while the 6.7-6.8 run times play in center or right field with a strong, accurate arm to round out the profile.

Bastian capped the year by committing to Florida this fall, and with the way the tools are trending, he’s firmly established himself as one of the top follow names in Florida for the 2027 Draft.

RJ Shields RHP / OF / Venice High, FL / 2027

Shields solidified his status as one of the premier arms in the 2027 class this fall with a pair of dominant outings that turned heads across the scouting world.

The breakout came at the Florida State Games, where the 6-foot-1, 213-pound right-hander overpowered hitters—touching 94 mph with easy velocity and pairing it with a wipeout slider that generated swing-and-miss after swing-and-miss. He punched out six in just two innings en route to earning event MVPitcher honors.

Shields carried that momentum into the following weekend at the Prep Baseball Cup, delivering another impressive performance that further cemented his rise. With present stuff, a strong, durable build, and a fastball that projects for more, Shields is primed for another big year in 2026.

The fall surge culminated in a commitment to Mississippi State for Shields.

Caden Coleman OF / SS / North Broward Preparatory School, FL / 2027

Coleman stands out as one of the top uncommitted talents remaining in the 2027 class—a super-toolsy athlete with the versatility and explosiveness that college programs covet.

Built at a lean, twitchy frame, he’s an above-average runner with defensive instincts, capable of handling center field. The actions are smooth and confident, backed by an above-average arm that plays anywhere on the diamond.

Offensively, the strength stands out: Coleman posted a standout 103 mph exit velocity at the Miami Fall Games in November—loud raw power for his age that translates into game impact. There’s easy bat speed, feel to hit, and the ability to drive the ball with authority to all fields.

A true multi-faceted contributor, Coleman has the upside to make an immediate impact at the next level in multiple ways—on the bases, in the field, and at the plate.
