TENNESSEE - With the calendar coming to a close in 2025, our staff has taken time to reflect on several accomplishments that occurred across the Volunteer State this past year. From state championships to a Junior Future Games title, 2025 proved to be an exciting and memorable year for baseball throughout Tennessee.

Today we are recapping the 2025 season for the Farragut Admirals as they claimed yet another state title, making this their fourth consecutive and 14th in school history.

2025 FARRAGUT ADMIRALS

Not many programs in the state can lay claim to the title of a true “baseball school” quite like Farragut High School. Year after year, the Admirals continue to set the standard, and May of 2025 only added another chapter to an already historic run.

Farragut capped off a dominant postseason with an emphatic victory over Clarksville, securing its fourth consecutive TSSAA Class 4A State Baseball Championship. The title marked the program’s 14th state championship overall and the second four-peat in school history, a feat that now places Farragut alone atop Tennessee high school baseball history.

What made this championship run even more remarkable was the uncertainty surrounding the Admirals entering the season. Farragut graduated nearly its entire starting lineup from the year before, and longtime head coach Chris Buckner retired following the 2024 season. With a new core of players and a new head coach in Copeland taking over, many, including myself questioned whether another title run was realistic.

Those doubts were quickly put to rest.

The Admirals finished the 2025 season with a 32–11 record, once again proving that postseason success is a tradition, not an exception, in Farragut’s program. Their state tournament run was defined by poise in tight moments, grinding out narrow wins over Independence and Siegel to earn a spot in the championship game.

In the title matchup, Farragut faced early adversity as Clarksville struck first in the opening inning. The Admirals responded with composure, gradually seizing control before delivering the decisive blow in the sixth. Sophomore Braxton Tye put the game out of reach with a grand slam, sealing an 11–3 victory and igniting a celebration that felt all too familiar in Knoxville.

On the mound, Cole Draper, a former Team Tennessee Future Games participant, once again rose to the moment. For the third consecutive state championship game, Draper took the ball and delivered a complete-game performance. After surrendering a run early, he settled in and allowed just one run the rest of the way, showcasing the calm, competitive edge that has defined Farragut’s biggest moments.

This four-peat from 2022–2025 mirrors the program’s earlier dynasty from 2008–2011, further cementing Farragut as the perennial powerhouse in Tennessee high school baseball and the program no opponent wants to see on their side of the postseason bracket.
