Best of the Fall: 2026 Hitters — Bat Speed & Hand Speed Leaders
As part of our Best of the Fall 2026 series, today we’re highlighting the hitters who stood out in bat speed and hand speed during fall events. Using data captured by BLAST Motion, these leaderboards reveal players who combine raw power potential with swing efficiency — traits that project to consistent offensive performance.
Leaderboards are presented both overall and by graduating class, giving a clear view of which hitters are performing at the top levels and which are trending upward for spring competition. These metrics provide measurable insight into the tools behind each player’s success at the plate, offering a window into who is physically advanced for their class and who could make an immediate impact in games.
BAT SPEED LEADERBOARDS
- What it is: Velocity of the bat barrel at contact (mph)
- Why it matters: Higher bat speed increases exit velocity potential and raw power at the plate. It’s a key predictor of a hitter’s ability to drive the ball.
- Top benchmarks:
- Elite: 73+ mph
- Above-Average: 69–72 mph
- Developing: <65 mph (depending on age/class)
