As these athletes enter their final years of high school, many talented upperclassmen remain available, some overlooked and others quietly flying under the radar, each searching for the right opportunity to compete at the next level.

Carson attended his first Prep Baseball showcase back in August and did not disappoint. In the field, at the plate, and on the mound, he emerged as one of the top performers at the event. He moved well defensively in the infield, utilizing his 6-foot-3, 198-pound frame, and showed arm strength by running it up to 88 mph across the diamond with natural carry. His BP session was the clear standout, posting a top-five exit velocity of the entire year at 105.9 mph while also averaging 94.2 mph with an 82% hard-hit rate (95+ mph EV). He capped the event by taking the mound, flashing a well-commanded three-pitch mix and running his fastball up to 86 mph after a full workout in 105-degree heat. As the 2026 season approaches and Canyon del Oro gets rolling, Carson is a senior to watch as he remains one of the top uncommitted players in the 2026 class.

Peyton Carson, Canyon Del Oro (AZ), 2026
Positional Profile: 3B/C
Body: 6-3, 198-pounds. Tall, well-built frame with present strength and some remaining projection as he continues to mature.
Delivery: Works with a slow, deliberate windup before exploding down the slope. Drives well off the backside and sits into the back leg to generate power toward the plate.
Arm Action: RH. Whippy arm stroke from a three-quarter slot, creating looseness and quickness through release.
FB: T86, 84-86 mph. Mid-80s offering with slight arm-side run and average carry. Shows the ability to fill the zone consistently and attack both sides of the plate, projecting well as he continues to add strength. T2334, 2264 average rpm.
SL: 71-76 mph. Low to mid 70s with strong spin and heavy sweep to the glove side. Shows late horizontal action with developing depth, projecting as a swing and miss pitch as consistency improves. T2554, 2344 average rpm.
CH: 79-80 mph. Upper-70s to 80 mph with above average arm side fade and some depth. Plays with solid separation off the fastball and shows promise as a usable secondary offering as feel continues to develop. T2002, 1961 average rpm.

Hit: RHH. High hand placement with a controlled toe tap load, creates space to get the barrel out front. Produces loud contact to all fields, adjusts well to pitches up in the zone with consistent barrel accuracy. 66.5 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 106 max exit velocity, averaged 94.2 mph. 379' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-88 mph.
Defense: Quick, smooth feet with fluid actions, gains momentum through the ball and stays online to the target. Arm strength plays well across the diamond with carry.
