Class of 2027 Rankings: Newcomers

With our final update for the 2027 group out for the year, we wanted to take some time to highlight all the new faces making their debuts in the rankings. There are 25 new names in this update as we expanded from 150 to 175, and all those new players can be found below.

From 9/23/25: "OF Nick Stowasser (Crystal Lake South, 2027) had a loud showing from start to finish at the event. He began the event by running the second-fastest 60 at 6.79 seconds and posted a 27-inch vertical (led the event). Offensively, the physical 6-foot-3, 194-pound right-handed hitter showed a simple swing that works flat through the zone while looking to keep the ball on a line while using the whole field. Stowasser reached 98 mph off the bat, paired with a peak distance of 332 feet. Defensively, he showed natural and confident actions in the outfield, paired with a strong and accurate arm that reached up to 85 mph." |

Maddux Miller OF / RHP / Jacobs, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 126 / POS: 22
From 7/15/25: "RHP Maddux Miller (Jacobs, 2027) had one of the top pitching performances of the event as he displayed athleticism on the mound. The pitcher is listed at an athletic 6-foot-2, 177-pound frame with room to add strength. The right-handed pitcher is an athletic mover with a controlled tempo while his stride works in-line with a medium leg-lift into balance point. He has a clean, loose arm action from a ¾ arm slot with whip out front. His fastball has slight arm-side run while sitting 82.1-84.8 mph and topping out at 85.2 mph. The pitch had an average spin rate of 2237 RPM with a max of 2393 RPM. Miller displayed a slider that has feel around the zone with a 10/4 shape while sitting 66-70 mph. The pitch had an average horizontal movement of -9.5 inches (-12.4 inches max). His changeup rounded out his pitch-mix as he threw it with fastball intent while it dropped below the zone and sat 72-74 mph. The pitch had an average horizontal movement of 11.1 inches (15.4 inches max)." |

From 3/6/25: "INF Matthew Hara (Libertyville, 2027) stood out with his loud round of BP over the weekend. At the plate, the 5-foot-10, 174-pound right-handed hitter has some lean strength in his frame, and he was able to create a max EV of 95 mph while averaging 90 mph throughout. It's a simple swing that stays direct to the baseball with strong hands, looking to stay on top of the baseball - averaging 73 mph for his bat-speed and 16.8 Gs for his rotational acceleration. Hara also impressed defensively by showing range up the middle, paired with a clean double play turn and a steady two-hand gather out front." |

From 3/12/25: "Aidan Cullen (Oswego East, 2027) is a young infielder with an athletic right-handed swing and above-average feel to hit for his age. Like Farabaugh, his best days are yet to come and he has a strong foundation to build on when it comes to his swing. He controlled the barrel throughout, stayed within himself and lined hard contact back up the box. 7.40 runner and 82 mph across the infield while showing the hands and actions to stick up the middle infield moving forward." |

Ian Crabb SS / RHP / Harrisburg, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 142 / POS: 31
From 7/11/25: "RHP/MIF Ian Crabb (Harrisburg, 2027) impressed in all facets of his first Prep Baseball showcase. Crabb has an athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with room to add strength. On the mound, Crabb operates from a simple, easy delivery with a long, clean arm action from a ¾ slot. His fastball sat 82-84 mph while topping out at 85 mph with an average spin rate of 2299 RPM (2387 RPM). The pitch showed plenty of ride as it had an induced vertical break of 18.4 inches (20.7 inches max) with an average horizontal movement of 11.8 inches (14.7 inches max). Crabb showed a curveball that displayed plenty of depth as it had an average induced vertical break of -7.7 inches (-10 inches max) and an average horizontal movement of -4.6 inches (-7.4 inches max) while sitting 73-75 mph. His changeup sat 75-76 mph while sitting low in the zone with an average horizontal movement of 14.1 inches." |

Hunter Bergdahl SS / RHP / Lakes Community, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 143 / POS: 32
Listed at 6-foot-1, 174-pounds, Bergdahl is a projectable right-hander with a bright future. He's a clean mover with a loose arm, and his mid-80s fastball compliments a high-spin curveball and a changeup - though we expect the fastball to continue to tick up in the near future. |

Gallucci impressed in his outing at the Illinois State Games, showing a three-pitch mix with some dynamic traits to the arsenal. The four-seam will play in the mid-80s, topping around 86 mph, pairing with a sinker that sits around 80-84 mph with hard running action. His final offering is a sweeping slider in the 74-75 mph range. |

Christopher Chittaro LHP / OF / Saint Ignatius, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 159 / POS: 12
From 8/5/25: "LHP Christopher Chittaro (Saint Ignatius, 2027) was efficient in his two innings of work. Lean 6-foot, 164-pound frame. The left-hander operated out of a controlled, deliberate delivery, utilizing a medium leg lift into balance point, finishing in-line. His arm worked out of a compact ¾ arm action. Chittaro worked quickly on the mound, only allowing one hit with two strikeouts and no runs allowed. He was able to induce weak contact with his three-pitch mix. His fastball was 81-84 mph with max IVB of 16.4”. He also showed a 1/7 curveball with depth at 68-70 mph, and a fading changeup at 72-73" |

Ryley Orlanes SS / OF / Naperville Central, IL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 160 / POS: 36
From 7/1/25: "INF/OF Ryley Orlanes (Naperville Central, 2027) is an athletic utility player that showed well in multiple facets of the showcase. 5-foot-8, 140-pound frame with room to add strength. Orlanes started off the event by being at the top of the leaderboard in 60-yd dash (6.68) and vertical jump (27.2 inches). The right-handed hitter swings with intent with some twitch while having a pull-side approach. Orlanes had an average hand speed of 20.3 mph (21.4 mph max). His athleticism oozed in the field as he topped out at 85 mph in the infield and outfield." |

From 7/23/25: "Acevedo would show quality actions on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend. At the plate, the right-handed bat showed a whippy barrel with developing bat speed and strength. Defensively showed rangy actions at the hot corner with fluid footwork and confident hands. Developing 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with present athleticism." |

The right-handed pitcher has a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift while having a tall/fall approach. Long, loose arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 83-86 mph with an average induced vertical break of 18.2 inches. He mixed in a changeup that sat 75-77 mph. His slider looks to be a potential out-pitch as it sits 71-72 mph. The pitch averages 2600 RPM spin rate and has an average horizontal movement of -15.4 inches. Garner rounds out his pitch-mix with a curveball that sits 72-73 mph. The pitch shows depth as well as having a high spin rate." |

Operated out of a crouched, balanced setup, with rhythmic hands, and a short toe-tap stride. The RHH/LHP prospect went 1-for-2 at the plate, sending a hard ground ball to left field for a single. Defensively, showcased a loose arm from the outfield. Two-way sophomore to know in Illinois." |

From 7/15/25: "OF Jack Gonzalez (Glenbrook South, 2027) showed off the top athleticism of the event. Gonzalez ran an event best 6.82 60 time while having a vertical jump of 25.50 inches. The outfielder is listed as an athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame with room to add strength. The right-handed hitter creates extension through contact with a loose, uphill bat path while having a line drive approach. Gonzalez had an average batted ball distance of 224 feet (345 ft. max) while having a max exit velocity of 94.9 mph. He had an average hand speed of 23 mph (24 mph max) while having an average bat speed of 70.8 mph (73 mph max). Defensively, the outfielder showed smooth, clean actions with a loose, compact arm action from a high ¾ slot while having an outfield velocity of 81 mph." |

Kilimnik also showed well on the defensive side of the ball; playing with a natural feel for the position to go with athletic footwork, a confident glove, and a strong arm that peaked at 86 mph. On the mound, the southpaw’s fastball was up to 81 mph. He turned to a curveball and slider, both with quality average spin rates at 2343 and 2340 rpm, respectively. Kilimnik also threw a changeup at 73-75 mph with fade, and a sinker up to 81 mph with arm-side action." |

From 2/13/25: "RHP Sam Sehlhorst (Glenbrook South, 2027) is an extremely projectable 6-foot-5, 180-pound right-hander to follow moving forward. He has an easy, long-levered delivery that creates some angle through the zone, finishing with an athletic leg-swing. His arm works from a higher ¾ window, helping to add to the angle he creates with his delivery. His fastball worked in the 77-81 mph range with some slight run to his arm-side, and he was able to move it around the zone throughout his ‘pen. The slider is still developing at 63-68 mph, and his changeup is a quality third offering with straight action, 66-68 mph." |

Also a catcher, Lindemann looks advanced behind the plate and is certainly one to keep an eye on going forward." |

Listed at a muscle-bound 5-foot-10, 190-pounds with a developed build and rounded shoulders, there’s plenty of present strength in the swing, as he delivered EVs in the upper-90s on the workout day. Mature approach in our brief look, controlled the zone with quality swing decisions." |

From 9/10/25: "1B/OF/LHP Greyson Alesia (Hinsdale Central, 2027) put together one of the better all-around showings at the event. Presenting a projectable frame at a trim, 6-foot-3, 160-pounds, the left/left prospect was among the event leaders in the 60, posting a 6.95. He showed a loose and athletic swing from the left side that reached a max EV of 91 mph (avg. 86.1 mph), while hitting his furthest ball 339 feet. Alesia also showed natural actions and feel for the first base position during defense; picking balls with ease and showing flexibility around the bag. His fastball showed natural heavy running action up to 76 mph, pairing with a slider and a changeup." |
