The 2026 Tennessee high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at the state tournament championships – but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

2026 OUTLOOK

+ Lewis County High School enters the 2026 season with momentum after capturing the District 10 championship a year ago, finishing 18–15 under head coach Caleb Brewer. Competing in TSSAA Class AA, the Panthers return a solid core of contributors and look to build on last season’s postseason experience as they aim for another run through district and regional play.

The lineup is led by a group of returning positional starters who bring athleticism and defensive stability up the middle. Braylon Bean (2026) returns behind the plate, providing leadership and consistency at catcher, while Maddox Tanner (2027) anchors the infield at shortstop and adds value on the mound. In the outfield, Dakota Hull (2027) and Phenix McDonald (2027) give Lewis County speed, range, and offensive upside, with Hull patrolling center field and McDonald locking down right field.

On the mound, the Panthers bring back multiple arms that contributed to last season’s district title. Hull and Tanner headline the staff, supported by Kegan Clayton (2026) and Kolt Skelton (2026), giving Lewis County depth and flexibility throughout the week. The roster is further strengthened by a group of impact underclassmen, including Jaxon Long (2028), Cooper Norris (2028), and Rhylan Hamm (2029), who add depth and long-term upside. With a strong returning core and a championship foundation already in place, Lewis County enters 2026 positioned to defend its District 10 crown and remain a factor in Class AA.
