The 2026 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK
The Frisco Centennial Titans, led by Head Coach Travis Summerlin, enter the 2026 season with experience as a primary team strength. Despite a 10-18 record in 2025 and the loss of 2nd Team All-District pitcher John Caldwell, the Titans return a veteran core of eight position players, two starting pitchers, and two relief pitchers. This veteran presence is anchored by uncommitted RHP/OF Hayden O (2026), a unanimous 1st Team All-District selection whose fastball reaches 89 mph, along with his battery mate and four-year starting catcher Myles Woertendyke (2026).
The roster is bolstered by several other decorated returning players, including 1st Team All-District infielder Matthew Echaniz (2027) and 2nd Team All-District infielder Carter Hughes (2026). The team also features promising younger talent such as sophomore OF Ryan Weilbacher (2028) and newcomer RHP/INF Kasen Cox (2028). With a mix of seasoned upperclassmen and emerging underclassmen, including freshman OF/INF Nikolas Lagusis as a name to monitor in the program, the Titans aim to build on their experience to compete for a postseason berth in 2026.
COACH’S QUOTE
“Strong returning team with great senior leadership. Both starting pitchers are back and a great mix of young and old bats. Culture and leadership has been strong.”
- Travis Summerlin, Frisco Centennial Head Coach
