The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Andalusia enters the 2026 season looking to build on a 14-11-1 finish in 2025 that resulted in a first-round playoff appearance. With much of the roster returning and a full offseason of work behind them, the Bulldogs head into the spring focused on continued development and competing consistently in Class 5A Area 3.

The Bulldogs return a senior core that will anchor both the lineup and the pitching staff. OF Noah Curry (2026) returns as an experienced outfield option, while SS/RHP Riley Cravey (2026) provides a key presence up the middle and on the mound. OF/RHP Kielan Davis (2026) rounds out the senior group as a two-way contributor expected to factor into both the lineup and pitching mix. This trio brings continuity and experience to a roster that logged meaningful varsity time a season ago. The junior class adds depth across the diamond. INF Asher Bentley (2027), INF Sawyer Hardy (2027), and C William Grimes (2027) all return as position players expected to compete for regular roles, while RHP Grover Wells (2027) and RHP/3B Weston Hoomes (2027) provide additional pitching depth and versatility. Together, this group strengthens the Bulldogs’ options both offensively and defensively as roles take shape. Younger contributors also factor into Andalusia’s 2026 outlook. SS/RHP Row Thorn (2029) and OF/RHP Brayden Ware (2028) return as underclassmen who add depth to the roster and give the Bulldogs additional flexibility on the mound and in the field as the season progresses.

As Andalusia looks ahead to the 2026 season, the emphasis remains on growth and putting offseason work into action. As head coach Tyler Dent noted, “Looking forward to this group of guys, they have been hard at it since this summer and I am excited to see what is in store for us this season.” With returning experience and continued development across the roster, the Bulldogs enter the spring aiming to take another step forward in Class 5A.
