Scouting Report
Verbally committed to the University of Louisville.
Future Games 2025: LHP Cal Schneider (New Berlin Eisenhower) has a lot of projectability in his long-levered 6-foot-1, 150-pound frame. Along with the projectability, Schneider has a quality feel for his mechanics with a repeatable delivery. He can cause some uncomfortable at bats with his lower ¾ arm slot. His delivery stays simple and clean, using little effort and staying free and easy down the mound. His fastball stay in the 83-85 range, topping out at 86 mph with some arm-side life. Schneider also offered a look at a 67-70 mph curveball with 1/7 shape and a quality feel for spin at 2481 average rpms. His changeup plays well off the fastball at 71-73 mph, and he found the zone often with the pitch. He offered a strong, scoreless two innings on the mound on Friday, allowing three hits but striking out four in his two innings of work.
Uncommitted, one of the top performing pitchers in the state regardless of class, slated to rise in the next rankings update as one of the top left-handed pitchers in the class. Schneider got the ball to start the game and struck out nine batters across six shutout innings, walking two. The projectable 6-foot-1 left-hander routinely worked in the zone with his entire arsenal. Known for his pitchability the lefty worked in the low-80s T84 mph with his fastball with two secondaries, a curveball and changeup that play off each other with bigger action to each pitch. One of the top left-handers in the region with a history of performing in front of our staff.
Starting pitcher Cal Schneider would toe the rubber and carry a perfect game into the seventh inning, walking one batter before collecting his 13th and 14th strikeout of the night completing a no hit performance.
+ LHP Cal Schneider (New Berlin Eisenhower, 2027) came away one of the biggest winners from the event. Long known for his advanced pitchability, the ultra projectable 6-foot, 140-pound left-hander showed improved stuff while ticking up in velo. The fastball sat 83-85 mph T86 with heavy sinking action while locating the pitch through the zone. The breaking ball was sharp with two-plane break with bigger action, averaging 19.1 inches of horizontal movement, the changeup complemented both pitches, thrown with intent out of the same window while playing different than the fastball while playing east and west off the breaking ball. Schneider is a high-follow left-hander in the state’s sophomore class.
