Bret Schwartz
Prep Baseball Oklahoma Scouting Director

As the Fall comes to a close, Prep Baseball Oklahoma takes an updated look at the 2027 rankings.  The Junior campaign can offer big changes, with many players further developing physically and making bigger impacts on the Varsity level.  These rankings are compiled in multiple ways, utilizing data collected from our events, and our staff’s scouting throughout the spring and tournament seasons. Tools and projection do matter in the rankings but performance on the field is still highly valued. Today, we take a closer look at various members of the 2027 class with a deeper dive into both newcomers and risers on our list.

RANKINGS SPOTLIGHTS

Riley Rosser RHP / 1B / Broken Arrow, OK / 2027

Rosser debuts in our ranks with a work horse frame and power mix to match. The 6’3” and 200 pound right hander has shown the ability to attack the zone with his entire mix and 6” plus extension. The mix has shown the ability to play off the fastball at a high level with supporting peripheral metrics such as low IVB in both the slider (-2.6” avg IVB & -4.9” avg HM) and changeup (up to 16.9” HM). Rosser has a strong foundational skillset, but the Broken Arrow product has flashed sky-high upside with an easy move down the mound with one of our strongest showings of the fall.

Preston Kutej OF / OF / Moore, OK / 2027

Kutej flashed one of the most well-rounded, athletic, skillsets we saw throughout the fall that included a 6.57 60 and a 27” vertical jump which put him amongst the leaders in the state in both categories in 2025. The Moore Lion has shown the ability to impact games in a variety of ways from the top of the order. Offensively, in our look, he drove the baseball to all parts of the yard from a still developing frame. Defensively, Kutej showcased a strong and accurate arm (up to 86 mph) with speed to patrol the biggest part of the yard in Centerfield. He will be a name to know for a talented Moore squad that is expected to make a lot of noise this spring.

TJ Williams OF / Mount St. Mary, OK / 2027

Williams debuts in our ranks with some of the most upside in the class. The right handed hitting outfielder has long levers and shown athleticism that could project to big pull side power in the future. The two-sport athlete also excels on the hardwood and has already shown signs of development both in the outfield and in the box - with more to come. Highly projectable, Williams will be a name to follow this spring as he joins a talented Mount St. Mary lineup that returns numerous starters from a year ago.

Ryan Angell SS / RHP / Sapulpa, OK / 2027

Angell continues to flash upside in each opportunity to see him as he continues to develop his frame that was most recently at 6’3” and 170 pounds. Still room to add mass, he continues to show steady development in all phases, but was especially exciting on the mound. At the Tulsa Fall ID, he showed what could arguably be the most upside in his game, as he showcased a 3-pitch mix with command. The Sapulpa Chieftain has displayed advanced feel and command of his secondary offerings, both the slider and changeup, with each tunneling well off the fastball. An exciting foundation, Angell is a name to know with the ability to impact games in a variety of ways and loaded with upside.

Ty Jordan OF / OF / Panama, OK / 2027

Jordan jumped out at the Tulsa Fall ID flashing massive upside with athleticism as a left handed hitting outfielder. He consistently drove balls from alley to alley from a still developing 6’0” and 161 pound frame that has room to continue adding strength. Offensively, the above average runner (6.68 60) showcased an easy move with long levers that should lead to an uptick in power to the pull side. Already comfortable using the entire yard, Jordan is a name to know with room to continue growing in all areas of his game, but a strong foundational skillset.

James Sage OF / RHP / Bixby, OK / 2027

Sage showcased a well-rounded skillset at the Bixby Scout Day that can impact games in a variety of ways. The strong, right handed hitting outfielder drove the ball from alley to alley throughout BP with more power still to come in the 6’0” and 190 pound frame - especially to the pull side. An accurate throwing arm in the outfield, Sage profiles as an above average defender with his athleticism coming to play as he ranges into the gap. Sage is a big riser in our latest installment with visible development presently, but still an unfinished product with more to come.

Truxton Marsh C / OF / Bixby, OK / 2027

Marsh continues to rise in our latest installment with an explosive skillset and plenty of upside with a still developing frame. A versatile defender, Marsh has shown the athleticism to excel in the outfield where his above average speed (6.57 60) can truly play, but also a developing skillset behind the dish that would give him another avenue to impact games. Offensively, Marsh has flashed an easy move that speaks to efficiency and the ability to drive balls to all parts of the yard. He will be a name to continue following for a talented Bixby squad this spring as the 5’10” frame still has plenty of room for added strength and upside.

Jack McCord RHP / 3B / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2027

McCord rises in our ranks following a steady showing at the OKC Fall ID that showed a well-rounded skillset. His development and added strength were on display with an average exit velo (86.6 mph) just off the max exit velo for the day (89.9 mph). The offensive move continues to show more athleticism with the aforementioned added strength present through contact as he drove balls from alley to alley. Still far from an unfinished product, McCord has room to continue developing and assuredly has his best baseball still in front of him as he continues to add mass to his frame.
