TEAM OUTLOOK
The San Marcos Rattlers enter the 2026 season with significant momentum following a 23-10 record in 2025, where they reached the 6A Bi-District Finals. Despite losing 13 seniors prior to that campaign, the team relied heavily on a young core of sophomores and juniors who have now matured into an experienced roster. Led by Head Coach Bryan Webb, who holds an impressive 366-219-4 record at San Marcos, the Rattlers are identifying pitching and defense as their primary team strengths for the upcoming year.
The roster is bolstered by an exceptional group of returning talent, headlined by 2027 LHP/UTL and Texas State commit Jack Vasquez, who earned District MVP honors as a sophomore last spring. The pitching staff remains deep with returning second-team All-District selections Cole Wiatrak, Caleb Gomez, Andrew Wilson, and Ronnie Mendez Soto. In total, the program welcomes back nine returning position players, two starting pitchers, and six relief pitchers, ensuring continuity across the roster.
Offensively and defensively, the Rattlers feature several high-caliber players including first-team All-District outfielder Landon Munoz and second-team All-District catcher Colson Geesee. The middle infield is anchored by Charlie Helgeson, a Jefferson CC commit, and shortstop Tres Munos, both of whom earned All-District Honorable Mention last season. With a roster filled with veteran starters and postseason experience, San Marcos is well-positioned to compete in the 6A-29 classification as they aim for a deep run in the postseason in 2026.
