Below we have take a look at the standouts from the class of 2026.

Brody Jindra SS / RHP / Elkhorn South, NE / 2026

Nebraska commit.

The #1 ranked player in the 2026 class and a 2025 Player of the Year candidate solidified his position with a standout performance on both sides of the ball. He touched 93 mph with his fastball and showed an 81 mph slider with swing-and-miss traits. Offensively, he posted a 100.1 mph exit velocity, threw 92 mph across the infield, and ran a 6.78 60-yard dash, setting himself apart in the 2026 class.

Austin Baldwin SS / OF / BEATRICE HIGH SCHOOL, NE / 2026

Showcased his athletic versatility, transitioning from SS to OF and excelling as one of the top performers. He ran a 6.67 60-yard dash and threw 90 mph from the outfield. Increased strength and maturity have enhanced his already strong hit tool, with a max exit velocity of 97.3 mph and an average of 90.9 mph. He also hopped on the mound for the first time at the event, reaching 87-89 mph with his fastball. His offspeed pitches are raw, but his athletic traits make him an intriguing two-way prospect.

Nolan Going RHP / CREIGHTON PREPARATORY SCHOOL, NE / 2026

A big winner from the event, making his first appearance since the 2023 Elite 50. His fastball sat at 87-89 mph, and at 6’4", 220 lbs, he oozes projectability with more velocity likely to come. He displayed a three-pitch mix in the zone (FB/CB/CH) and will be a must-watch arm for college coaches this spring.

Donnie Rosenthal OF / RHP / Papillion La Vista South, NE / 2026

One of the top uncommitted outfielder in the 2026 class, Rosenthal continues to raise his stock. He improved across the board, running a 6.71 60-yard dash, throwing 92 mph from the outfield, and posting a 97.7 mph max exit velocity (91.6 avg). A line-drive, gap-to-gap hitter, he also covers ground well in the outfield and will be part of the fastest outfield trio in the state on a state championship contender. Expect a breakout season.

Grayson Wallace RHP / Papillion LaVista South, NE / 2026

Made a 4-mph jump from his June 2024 Summer ID event, topping at 88 mph. Showed a quicker motion with a shorter arm action, and at 6’1", 173 lbs, there’s room for more mass. On a loaded Papillion-La Vista South team, Wallace shouldn’t be overlooked by college coaches this spring.

Liam Smithberg 1B / RHP / Creighton Prep, NE / 2026

A two-sport athlete who had a loud round of BP. At 6’1", 193 lbs, he averaged 92.5 mph exit velocity, maxing out at 100 mph. Defensively, he has areas to refine at 1B, but his hand-eye coordination and rotational power translate seamlessly from the hockey rink to the baseball field. Expect him to hit in the middle of Creighton Prep’s lineup as they aim for a big season.

Kai Vanis SS / OF / Pius X, NE / 2026

A riser in the next rankings update, Vanis has made significant jumps since the 2024 Nebraska State Games. From his 5’11", 176 lb frame, he displayed sneaky pull-side pop with a 99.9 mph max exit velocity (87.6 avg) and recorded the farthest hit ball at 388 feet. His 1.63-second 10-yard split highlights his quickness, pairing well with his smooth, reliable glove on defense.

Caden Shafer 3B / 1B / Millard North, NE / 2026

One of the most consistent performers at the event, he recorded the highest average exit velocity at 98.4 mph, peaking at 99.9 mph. Possessing all the physical tools to be a power bat, he also showed defensive versatility at the corners in both the infield and outfield. He will be a key run producer for Millard North and a name college coaches need to follow.

Dakota Hughes RHP / 3B / Concordia, NE / 2026

The 2024 Team Midwest Future Games participant entered the Nebraska PSAS with a noticeably improved physique, dropping nearly 20 pounds without losing any of his power. His fastball sat in the high 80s, complemented by two offspeed pitches that he throws in the zone. While there’s some two-way potential, his future at the next level is likely on the mound. His best baseball is still ahead as his body continues to mature.

Triston Lenhoff OF / LHP / CRETE HIGH SCHOOL, NE / 2026

Entered the event ranked lower but will rise significantly in the next update. Though not previously well-known, he maximized his opportunity. Showed strong athletic traits (1.67 10-yard split, 6.94 60-yard dash), made consistent barrel contact in BP, and posted a max exit velocity of 91.9 mph (89.4 avg). He’ll be an interesting follow as the spring season progresses.
