Ontario Future Games Trials IIII: Quick Hits

Josh Arce
Director, Ontario

On Monday, May 19th, the Prep Baseball Ontario staff hosted it's fifth and final Future Games Trials with the Ontario Future Games Trials IIII hosted at Connorvale Park, home of the Etobicoke Rangers, in Etobicoke, Ontario.

This event featured roughly 20+ prospects in the 2026 - 2028 classes and it was the final chance for players to showcase themselves ahead of our selections for Canada's two teams heading to the Future Games in late July... The Canadian Future Games team (2027/2028 prospects) and Canada's Senior Future Games team (2026 prospects). Players attending Future Games Trials events also qualify to be selected for other marquee events including the New York State Games (NY), NorthEast Senior Games (NY), West Coast Games (CA), Super Sophomore Games (OH) and more.

All player ran through a full workout that included batting practice and bullpens captured on our TrackMan, as well as a 60-yard and splits captured by VALD Performance and positional metrics.. Over the next several days we'll be highlighting top performers from the event within our post-event analysis. Stay locked into our social media channels over the next several days as we continue to push out video, leaderboards and more.

Earlier this week, we broke down the top measurable data performers from the event with our Statistical Analysis, Pitching Data Dive and Positional Data Dive. Now, we conclude our post-event coverage within this Quick Hits article as we provide scouting notes and video on six standouts from the event.

Liam Milleker RHP / 3B / Birchmount Collegiate Institute, ON / 2027

The RHP out of the HPP Tigers program posted the top max fastball velocity at the event at 85.7 mph. There’s good pace in the delivery with a loose arm action and plenty to like in the 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame. There’s some feel to spin the slider in-zone up to 2335+ and rounds out his repertoire with a fading changeup with 15 inches of HM. Strong overall day for one of the top arms in attendance.

Jackson Rouse RHP / OF / Western Technical-Commercial School, ON / 2028

At 6-foot-3, 180-pounds, Rouse is a very intriguing arm out of the HPP Tigers program with lots of time to add strength. The delivery is simple and free with strike-throwing ability. The fastball sat in the 83-84 range with feel to spin both breaking balls, getting the slider up to 2600+ rpm. The metrics should only continue to climb, so we will keep tabs on Rouse heading into the summer circuit.

Jovan Wang RHP / SS / Iroquois Ridge High School, ON / 2028

Wang, a 15U Prep Baseball National Best of the West alumni, showed well on both sides of the ball this past week during our last Future Games Trials. Noticeably more physical at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds, Wang took two consistent rounds of BP, lifting to the pull-side with a max distance of 325 ft. On the mound, he’s a strike thrower that lived 77-80 mph with the fastball while spinning the slider at 68-69 (2150) and a changeup at 71-74. Battling back from arm issues, look for Wang’s numbers on the bump to trend upwards in the coming months.

Cooper Doan RHP / 3B / Parkside Collegiate Institute, ON / 2027

Doan impressed in the box at the event this week, showing feel to lift to his pull-side throughout his two rounds of BP. He posted the top max exit velo of 95.9 mph and the top max distance of 369 ft, leaving the yard multiple times. We’ve been impressed with the arm talent early on in the 2025 season, but Doan has shown strides at the plate within the last few months. A 2027 name to have on college coaches radar.

Brett Crowley OF / LHP / Adam Scott CVI, ON / 2027

At 5-foot-10, 190-pounds, Crowley has been on our staff’s radar for quite some time now. As one of the top two-way’s in the 2027 class, Crowley swung the bat well during his two rounds of BP, posting the 2nd highest exit velocity at the event (91.3 mph). There’s feel to hit for some juice from the left-side with a max distance of 343 ft. We didn’t see him on the mound during the event, but he ran the fastball up to 82.8 mph at the Ontario Youth Team tryouts over the weekend. Crowley will be a strong follow in the 2027 class for the coming years.

John Raposo SS / 3B / Bishop Tonnos CSS, ON / 2026

Raposo is a clean moving SS out of the Ontario Blue Jays system. During defensive evaluations, Raposo took good angles with athleticism throwing accurately from multiple different slots. At 6-foot-0. 155-pounds, there plenty of room to mature and add moving down the road. Raposo worked with a line-drive approach during his two rounds and had a max exit velocity of 88.4 mph, as well as posting the top 60-yard time on the day of 6.99 sec. We’ve already seen Raposo perform in-game early on this spring, so he is one to keep tabs on in the 2027 class.
