CBA Scout Day: Positional Data Dive

This past Monday, the Prep Baseball Utah staff hosted the CBA Scout Day at Crimson Cliffs High School. The event featured roughly 28 prospects from the CBA program and provided a valuable opportunity for these players to showcase their skills in a structured workout setting.
All players took part in a full pro-style workout that included a 60-yard dash, defensive evaluations with positional velocities, batting practice, and bullpen sessions for pitchers. The workout offered an in-depth look at each player’s tools and athleticism in a controlled environment. Data and video were collected throughout the day and added to player profiles to increase exposure as they continue their development.

Exit Velocity: This metric measures the speed of the ball, measured in miles per hour, as it comes off the bat at the moment of contact.
BATTED BALL DISTANCE (MAX)
Distance – This metric measures how far the ball traveled, or would travel if it was not obstructed, measured in feet.
BATTED BALL DISTANCE (AVG.)
SWEET SPOT %
Sweet Spot %: This metric is determined by how often the player produces a batted ball during the session with a launch angle between 8 to 32 degrees.
