Leoff has been one of the prototypical SoCal shortstops that has emerged in the 2027 class for good reason. He impressed for the Team USA 15u squad and has consistently shown a strong feel for the barrel within a smooth left-handed swing and clean fielding actions up the middle. It was more of the same of what we’ve seen from Leoff. He weighed in at 175.3 lbs, adding strength in season. The swing is on plane with a slight upward trajectory geared towards the gaps and immediately transferred into the gameplay. Leoff found the barrel right away and shot a hard ground ball into right field. He followed with two more swings in subsequent at-bats that generated hard contact. Leoff had a phenomenal year at Redondo Union, earning first-team all-league honors while hitting .351 with three home runs.
