Most-Viewed Profiles of 2025: No. 4 Landon Thome

By: Pete Hamot
Assistant Scouting Director, Illinois & Wisconsin

Our fourth most-viewed profile belongs to one of the best players in the entire country, INF Landon Thome (Nazareth, 2026). Fresh off a commitment to Florida State, Thome has done nothing but continue to elevate himself in every aspect of his game year after year, earning his position as our No. 1 player in the state. Also highly regarded from a national lens, Thome has shone at some of our marquee events over the years, most notably the Future Games and our All-American Game this past fall. Now in his senior year with a state title already under his belt, Thome is set to help lead a talented Nazareth squad to make another deep playoff run in 2026.

It's easy to like Thome as a prospect, because all he seemingly does is hit - and hit at a high clip against premium arms. The bat-to-ball is well beyond his years, and his blossoming power will only continue to make him more dangerous as he moves throughout the ranks. His glove is steady, and his foot-speed continues to improve as well, making him an intriguing prospect that should be able to stick on the infield long term.

Thome is primed for a big year ahead, as he deservingly will be followed closely from a draft standpoint. We’re excited to see what his final year at Nazareth has in store for him.

Scouting Report

5/17/25

Athletic 6-foot, 185-pound frame. The No. 1 player in the Illinois junior class would show well across the Saturday doubleheader, going 2-for-6 with a home run, a double, two RBIs, three runs scored, and a walk. The left-handed bat has a quiet presence in the box, with an athletic upright setup, utilizing a longer stride to get on time. Thome shows confidence and poise in the box, with evident pull-side pop. Defensively, the shortstop showed confident defensive actions with decisive footwork and hands.
