One of the more intriguing two-way prospects in the 2027 class, Day pairs twitchy athleticism with loud tools on both sides of the ball. On the mound, the lean 6-foot-3 right-hander shows a loose, low-effort delivery that produces a 91–93 mph fastball with life, complemented by a sharp mid-70s slider and developing changeup. At the plate, he generates easy bat speed with a wide, grounded setup and advanced barrel feel—topping out at 101 mph exit velocity and sending balls 350+ feet. Add in a 6.85 60-yard dash and a 26" vertical, and it’s clear Day’s upside is just scratching the surface. |

2 | Kowen Rader | Adams Central | RHP |
Rader brings plenty of projection in a wiry 6-foot-2 frame with a clean, efficient delivery that screams future velocity gains. He commands an upper-80s fastball (T88.3) with above-average spin, pairing it with a sharp low-80s slider and traditional curveball that give him both horizontal and vertical shape. He rounds out a full arsenal with a changeup and splitter. As he continues to add strength, Rader’s ability to repeat his low-effort mechanics makes him a high-upside arm in Nebraska’s 2027 crop.

3 | Markus Chandler | Omaha Westside | SS/RHP |
Chandler packs punch into a stocky 5-foot-9 frame, showing advanced bat speed and strength with a 100 mph max exit velocity and 381-foot top batted distance. His setup is simple and explosive, and the swing works to all fields with authority. Defensively, he fits well at third base with fluid actions and an 88 mph arm across the diamond. On the mound, he mixes a 90 mph fastball (2533 max spin), high-spin curve, and fading change from a repeatable, athletic delivery. With two-way impact and twitchy explosiveness, Chandler is a high-follow in the class.

4 | Millard South | OF/LHP | |
Lean and projectable, Swaney brings a polished, athletic presence on both sides of the ball. The left-handed hitter shows adjustability and quick hands with barrel life to the pull side—topping out at 94 mph exit velocity. He moves well in the outfield with clean footwork and an 82 mph arm. On the mound, his low-effort delivery produces a fastball at 77–80 mph and a sharp mid-60s breaking ball, with feel for a fading change. A 7.26 runner with a fluid, balanced operation, Swaney’s tools hint at more to come as strength is added.

5 | Grand Island | C/OF | |
Strong and steady, Schroeder delivers mature at-bats with quick hands and easy lift—posting a 96 mph max exit velocity and averaging over 95 mph. Behind the plate, he’s clean and efficient (1.93–2.07 pop) with a strong arm and quiet receiving. He moves well in the outfield too (86 mph arm), and runs a 6.96 with a 28" vertical. Physical, versatile, and consistent—Schroeder looks the part. |
