Future Games Tryout: Fullerton - Catcher Analysis

This past Saturday, May 31st, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Future Games Tryout at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. This was an invite only event and it gave our staff an ample look at the area's top players.
40 players made their way to Mater Dei HS this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.
Today, we will be looking at all of the catcher reports from the event.
CATCHER ANALYSIS
Luke Bacon, Arlington High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: C/OF LHH catcher with a strong frame, quick feet, and a heavy barrel.
Body: 5-10, 164 pounds. Strong and athletic build, projectable.
Hit: LHH. Heavy load onto back leg, soft leg lift, balanced finish. Heavy barrel, stays level, long extension. 64.6 mph bat speed with 19g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 mph max exit velocity (81.2 avg.); 336-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 74.00 mph. Short, dart thrower, 3/4 slot, accurate.
Defense: 2.01-2.20 pop time range; Low crouch, loose, athletic blocker.
Athletic Testing: 7.09 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Codey Brown, Ayala (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: C/1B Confident catcher with smooth actions behind the plate and a quick bat that flashes power potential.
Body: 6-0, 166 pounds. Strong shoulders, strength throughout, athletic, proportionate.
Hit: RHH. Wide, slightly open, gets into legs when loading, stays in-line. Longer path, keeps hands close to body, gets the bat head out front. 63.4 mph bat speed with 15g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 mph max exit velocity (74.6 avg.); 359-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 74.00 mph. Short and whippy, 3/4 slot, ball possesses carry.
Defense: 2.05-2.26 pop time range; Quick out of crouch, natural look, easy and confident throw.
Athletic Testing: 7.34 runner in the 60-yard dash.
