2025 Prep Baseball Mississippi Co-Player of the Year: Joseph & Jacob Parker

Prep Baseball Mississippi Staff

After a strong 2025 high school baseball season, Prep Baseball has announced its Player of the Year in the state of Mississippi. Last year, Jackson Prep's Konnor Griffin took home the Prep Baseball Mississippi POTY honors as he was later selected in the first round by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

This year, and for the first time ever, Prep Baseball Mississippi's POTY award will go to two players in Mississippi who happen to be twins, Joseph "JoJo" Parker & Jacob Parker.

After remarkable spring seasons from both Joseph "JoJo" and Jacob Parker that saw them reach the Class 4A State Championship series this spring, it is no surprise to see them both claiming Prep Baseball Mississippi Co-Player of the year honors in 2025.

A DYNAMIC DUO ON THE DIAMOND

+ Jo Jo Parker showcased elite talent on both sides of the ball. The Mississippi State signee hit .465 with 13 home runs, 35 RBIs, 11 doubles, and an incredible 70 runs scored as the spark plug at the top of the Tornadoes’ lineup.

On the mound, Jo Jo was equally dominant. He went 9-2 with a 2.68 ERA and 99 strikeouts in 2025, consistently shutting down lineups with command and competitiveness. His career pitching numbers — a 24-3 record, 2.46 ERA, and 287 strikeouts — speak volumes about his consistency and durability as a frontline arm for the Purvis staff.

He wraps up his Purvis career hitting .426 with 40 home runs, 44 doubles, 146 RBIs, 227 runs, and 203 hits, proving to be one of the most dynamic and complete players to come through the program.

+ Jacob Parker, a true offensive force put together a senior season for the ages. The 6-foot-4 slugger hit an astounding .525 with 17 home runs, 54 RBIs, 10 doubles, and scored 63 runs. His bat was one of the most feared in the state, and his ability to change the game with one swing made him a nightmare for opposing pitchers all year long.

Jacob finishes his high school career with a .402 batting average, 42 home runs, 47 doubles, 186 RBIs, 175 runs, and 205 hits, cementing his legacy as one of the most productive hitters in Mississippi high school baseball history.
