Each week throughout the high school season, we will announce the Prep Baseball Oregon Pitcher and Hitter of the Week, recognizing standout performances from across the state. With numerous players excelling both at the plate and on the mound, this award will be based on nominations submitted through our POTW Google Form.

Additionally, we will continue our Oregon Diamond Notes to highlight other deserving players nominated by coaches who were not selected as the Pitcher or Hitter of the Week.

This week's Pitcher of the Week is '26 LHP Zack Hankins (Taft).

Zack Hankins LHP / 1B / Taft, OR / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 37 / POS: 4 The lefty earns Pitcher of the Week honors in week 8 of Oregon HS action after a remarkable outing last week. Hankins threw 7 innings, allowing just 1 hit while striking out an incredible 18 batters. The Taft High School product walked two batters and gave up no runs in a complete game victory. Hankins was most recently seen at PNW Preseason All-State this winter.
