The 2025 State Playoffs Are Underway!

Following a competitive regular season, the journey to the 2025 State Playoffs is officially in motion.  Opening night saw Class 5A and 4A teams take the field on Monday, May 5, kicking off what promises to be an electric few weeks of postseason baseball.  Classes 3A, 2A, and 1A will follow with first-round action beginning Tuesday, May 6.

Teams across the state have battled all season with one goal in sight, punching their ticket to the State Championship series.  With playoff intensity already showing on Day One, every inning from here on out carries major weight.

Harrison Keels 2025 LHP Byrnes HS 

Citadel Signee Keels is a very projectable 6’2, long-armed lefty that is going to the Citadel.  He sits in the low-to-mid 80’s with the fastball and I would expect to see that number increase as he adds to the frame.  His fastball has plenty of late, arm-side run that makes it very difficult to square up.   He also uses a solid curveball to keep hitters off balanced in the low 70’s.  His movement and velocity differential make him tough to hit.  Keels is an effective starter for the Rebels and should be a contributor at the next level if he continues to develop.  

Connor Crenshaw 2025 INF Byrnes HS 

Lander Signee Crenshaw got off to a great start in the playoffs with a 5-hit game on Monday night and followed it up with a homerun in his first at-bat on Tuesday.  Crenshaw is a strong kid that really uses his lower half to generate power.  He has solid bat-to-ball skills and combines those with the power to be a run-producer in the middle of the Byrnes order.  Crenshaw also runs the bases well and plays hard.  He is a fun player to watch and should be able to compete for playing time on the infield at the next level.
