Texas Class of 2026 Rankings Update (May 2025)

TEXAS - High school baseball in Texas is unmatched — the passion, the talent, the competition. Nowhere else produces depth quite like the Lone Star State, and the 2026 class is living proof. The latest update to the Prep Baseball Texas state rankings comes as we wind down the High School season and head into the Summer. Below, we Shine a spotlight on the top 10 players in the class, a group loaded with SEC and Big 12 commits and uncommitted talent with major upside.

TOP 10 SNAPSHOT
Grady Emerson (Argyle), the No. 1 player in the state and a Texas commit, continues to separate himself with one of the best hit tools in the country. The smooth-fielding shortstop has long been the face of the class and keeps proving why. Right behind him is Cole Koeninger (Keller), a Tennessee commit and elite two-way talent who impacts the game on both sides. Spencer Browning (Pleasant Grove), an Arkansas commit, rises to No. 3 after a strong spring — he's one of the most dynamic athletes in the class and plays the game with energy and edge.
Jorvorskie Lane (OD Wyatt) checks in at No. 4 and is the top uncommitted player in the group. The physical outfielder brings a rare blend of strength and speed that jumps off the field. Rounding out the top five is Trey Rangel (The Colony), the hard-throwing right-hander and Texas commit who continues to solidify himself as one of the premier arms in the nation.
The next five is loaded with firepower: Chandler Hart (Allen) is a polished left-hander and Texas A&M commit with feel and command; Cooper Harris (Flower Mound) is an aggressive righty with a bulldog mentality and Texas commit; Connor Comeau (Austin Anderson), a Texas A&M commit, brings twitch, athleticism, and left-handed juice from the shortstop spot. Cooper Webb (Lake Travis) and Jack Smejkal (The Woodlands) round out the top 10 — two right-handers committed to Texas with advanced stuff and starter profiles, with Smejkal also bringing value as a two-way player.
This class is deep. And the top continues to rise.
