NJSIAA Top Performing Pitchers

New Jersey high school baseball has seen its share of standout pitching performances. Across the state, pitchers have delivered no-hitters, racked up double-digit strikeouts, and had impressive single game performances. This story takes a closer look at some of the top pitching performers in New Jersey.

TOP PITCHING PERFORMERS

All stats as of 5/19/2025

+ Cory Pascarella, RHP (Colonia, 2025; Monmouth):
Pascarella, a senior, has been Colonia’s ace this season and has put together an impressive stat line. In 52.1 innings pitched, the right-hander has allowed just five runs, four of which are earned, and has a 95/11 strikeout to walk ratio. Pascarella has a 0.54 ERA on the season and has been one of the top right-handers in the state.

+ Frank Cairone, LHP (Delsea, 2025; Coastal Carolina):
The Coastal Carolina recruit and Super 60 Alum has put together a nice season so far for Delsea. The southpaw has tossed 33 innings, allowing three total runs, two of which are earned, struck out 72, walked 13, and has a 0.42 ERA on the year. Carione is the No. 11 overall prospect in the NJ 2025 class and No. 50 in the country.

+ Lizandro (Li) Perez, RHP (Rutgers Prep, 2026; Seton Hall):
Perez is the No. 30 ranked prospect in the NJ 2026 class and has had a quality year on the mound for the Argonauts. In 37.2 innings of work, Perez has a 2.60 ERA with 81 strikeouts and 26 walks. The junior has allowed 14 earned runs and just 15 hits on the year. The junior was at the NJ Top Prospect games this past fall.

+ Franklin Fernandez, RHP (Pennsauken Tech, 2025):
The senior has been a bright spot for the Tornados this season. Fernandez carries a 0.60 ERA in 46.2 innings pitched, allowing just four earned runs. The right-hander has struck out a whopping 110 hitters while walking 17. Fernandez leads his team in every pitching stat among qualified pitchers.

+ Connor Stratton, RHP (Maple Shade, 2025):
Stratton carries a 1.28 ERA in 43.2 innings of work. The senior has allowed just eight earned runs on the year while striking out 86 and walking 12. Stratton nearly threw a no-hitter against Riverside in April in a complete game shutout with 13 strikeouts. The senior has allowed only 16 hits on the year.

+ Sean Budis, LHP (Brearlay, 2025; Boston College):
Budis has been Brearley’s best arm this season, currently ranked No. 12 in the state’s senior class. The southpaw has thrown 43.2 innings and struck out 71 while only walking nine. An impressive K/BB ratio. The Boston College commit has a 1.92 ERA, allowing 12 earned runs.

+ Eamon McDermott, RHP (Bishop Eustace, 2025; Georgetown):
The Georgetown commit has tossed 37.1 innings for the Crusaders this season carrying a 2.06 ERA, allowing 11 earned runs. The senior has struck out 79 and walked 18. McDermott had an impressive start against Seneca, striking out a school record 19 hitters, allowing two hits, and no runs in a complete game effort. Currently ranked No. 23 in the state’s senior class.

+ Charlie Wingfield, RHP (Ramapo, 2025; Wake Forest (Football)):
Wingfield is a standout on the football field and also is a top pitcher for powerhouse Ramapo. The right-hander has thrown 36.2 innings allowing seven earned runs. Wingfield has struck out 61 hitters and walked six. Currently ranked No. 120 in the state’s senior class.
