May 20, 2025
As we gear up for one of our top invite-only events of the year, the Missouri State Games, we will begin breaking down our notes on each of the prospects who will be in attendance. Each year, the Missouri State Games sees many of the state’s top athletes from the 2026-2029 classes compete, and gives all of them a chance to be seen by scouts and recruiters. This year’s event is taking place on June 9th and 10th at the University of Missouri. The first day will feature a pro-style workout before the second day will see the prospects split into teams and play two games.

Luke Baer 3B / RHP / Ozark, MO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 45 / POS: 4
In our last look at Baer, the right-hander showcased a mid 80s fastball, although we've had him touching velos in the upper 80s at times in the past, with a pair of quality offspeed offerings in his slider and changeup. Defensively he's got active, quick feet and soft hands. Baer has continued to add strength to a projectable frame at 6'3 195 lbs, and will see his power numbers jump as he develops physically. |

The right-hander showcased an effortless delivery, running his fastball up to 85.5 mph, and will only continue to see that number climb as he continues to add strength. He also showed an advanced feel for his offspeed offerings, a slider and changeup, mixing both in for strikes with consistency. At the plate, he utilized a quick, rotational swing with a pullside approach, topping out with an exit velocity of 90.5 mph. |

Colin Campbell SS / 2B / Francis Howell, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 78 / POS: 14

Derek Chupp 1B / LHP / Francis Howell, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 71 / POS: 3
