Today we release a late spring update to the 2027 class. This update will have the class holding at the Top 125, with the next expansion coming in late summer after our tournaments and showcase events. Below we highlight a few players that our staff had an opportunity to gather evaluations on this spring during the high school season.
+ Cole Cinnamond - LHP - Great Bridge - Uncommitted
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound left hander makes the move to the top overall player in the Virginia/DC Class of 2027. Why does he make the move now? While the stuff is showing similar to how it has in the past, the consistency of his outings this spring lean towards this move. In the addition to how he has put together a really solid spring, his velo continues to make small gains and still shows some potential velo jumps in his future. The projectable left hander has been up to 92 in front of our staff this spring and the strikes, for the most part, have improved. In thirty-three innings pitched, Cinnamond boasts a 2.33 ERA with fifty-one strikeouts with opponents hitting .172. While it is fairly undeniable that this is an arm first profile, the left handed bat has shown well at times also. Cinnamond is hitting .380 on the season with two homeruns.
+ Graydon Ambrose - C - First Colonial - Uncommitted
The physical right handed hitting catcher surplants himself inside of the Top 10 and as the current #2 catcher in this class. The move comes after some improved catch and throw ability behind the plate, as well as improved receiving ability. As a freshman Ambrose showed his offensive skillset, hitting in the middle of the order for the Class 5 State Champions. He has solid bat to ball and shows a willingness to use the whole field. The power and impact could use a tick up, but that should continue to get better with improved strength as he matures.

+ Grayson Morris - 3B - Monacan - Uncommitted
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound corner infielder made some big splashes in front of our staff this spring, including a multi-hit day in late April where he showcased a combination of hit tool and present/future impact. It is a quiet and repeatable operation in the pre-pitch and displays a more compact swing with extension out front. While he showed some ability to defend at shortstop this season, long term defensive fit appears to be more corner/corner. As the impact continues to show some consistency, the profile and value could continue to make jumps forward.
