Trackman Baseball Arsenal Analysis: Kade Wede
May 26, 2025
At Prep Baseball Dakotas, our goal is to provide an in-depth analysis of pitching arsenals and what makes certain pitchers successful. By utilizing TrackMan Baseball, we aim to go beyond just velocity and spin rate, diving into all the data points that reveal how a pitcher manipulates the baseball to generate outs. These insights can be strong indicators of success—not only at the prep level but also in college and beyond.
Today we take a look at Kade Wede from Harrisburg High School. The number 3 ranked player in the Dakotas class of 2027.

*Outlier Metrics Bolded*
Fastball
The most eye popping metric for every pitcher on the planet is fastball velocity. Wede's velocity is in the upper echelon of fastballs in the 2027 class, sitting 88.4 on average, maxing out at 90.0 MPH. Further than velocity, his Vertical Approach Angle sits at -3.7 on average, which helps him generate swing/miss when thrown at the top of the zone.

Cutter
Wede's cutter is one of the most interesting parts of his arsenal, the pitch has a IVB at 2.8 on average and a HB of -6.8 inches (which is gross). This pitch can serve as a bridge between his other offspeed offerings, with the velocity being high (82.8 avg.), it forces lots of ugly swing and misses, which is exactly what he did last summer at the Super Sophomore Games.
Wede creates a 11:30 tilt on the baseball, meaning he is slightly on the side of the baseball shown below, which allows him to create glove side movement.
Curveball/Changeup
Wede's curveball is thrown in the low to mid 70s, which is a good for him to land in the zone, with it having -10.1 inches of horizontal break, this pitch can play like a sweeper at times. Regardless, its another tool Wede has at his disposal to get outs with.
Kade's changeup a movement perspective is average compared to the rest of his arsenal. The metric that sitcks out on the pitch is his spin rate (1,434 avg. RPM). While spin rate doesn't directly correlate with movement of a pitch, it can be an indicator of how the pitch could be in the future.
