Updated Illinois Power 25 Rankings

Illinois Scouting Staff

It was one of those weeks where a good portion of the Power 25 teams handled their business, resulting in not a whole lot of movement throughout. The top-five remains the exact same, with  minimal jumping/falling after that minus a few exceptions. There are four new teams to make note of in this update - with Plainfield Central, Normal University, St. Francis and Mundelein all making their debuts after strong weeks.

Continue reading below for the complete Power 25 breakdown.

The Tigers will continue their conference play this week with a matchup against Belleville West, and they will also have a couple tough matchups against Highland and Glenwood.

+ No. 7 Lincoln-Way East (19-4): Up two spots to No. 7, the Griffins are one of the hottest teams in the state right now, coming off a 4-0 week that includes a big 10-0 win over No. 13 Providence Catholic. They also took down conference rival Homewood-Flossmoor twice (14-13 & 4-2), as well as Oswego East 7-3.

+ No. 8 Father McGivney (25-2): The Griffins continue to roll and look every bit the part of the top 1A team in the state, taking down much larger schools in the process.
