May 5, 2025
Last week we made a much needed update to the Wisconsin 2026 Rankings after a long winter of preseason events and some early spring looks. With this update, there were plenty of notable changes with prospects rising in the rankings or entering for the first time.
With that, our staff wanted to take a look at some of the top risers of this recent update. There's plenty more uncommitted names to know within the 2026 rankings which can be found by taking a look at the complete 2026 rankings, found here, or click HERE to see the overall Prep Baseball 2026 Rankings.
TWO-WAY ATHLETES
![]() |
Sam Wells RHP / 3B / Brookfield East, WI / 2026From 3/22/25: "Was a big winner at this event. He possesses athleticism and strength with his 6-foot-1, 197-pound frame. The righty’s fastball reached 89 mph on the mound and featured a late tail. He complemented his fastball with a sharp 75-77 mph curveball and an 81-83 mph cutter with some downer action. His delivery is fluid, showcasing athleticism on the mound. At the plate, Wells demonstrates power with a well-sequenced swing and impressed us with a 98 mph exit velocity, as well as a 91 mph throw from the infield." |

Callen Tomsyck RHP / OF / Muskego, WI / 2026From 3/22/25: "Came away arguably the top winner from the weekend. The athleticism, and physicality ticked up over the offseason, putting on over 20 pounds of strength while lowering his run-time to a 6.61. At the plate, Tomsyck took a standout round of BP, one of the top rounds we have seen all winter, flashing innate feel for the barrel with consistent loud and elevated contact. A true two-way player at the next-level, the arm has been consistently up to 88 mph with feel for a swing-and-miss breaking ball." |

Zach Rizzo 1B / RHP / Kenosha St. Joseph, WI / 2026From 3/9/25: "Two-sport standout, and one of the state’s top QB prospects. The imposing 6-foot-5, 239-pound two-way prospect stood out on both sides of the ball this past weekend. At the plate, Rizzo took a loud round from the right side, from a simple and easily repeatable path, showing feel to drive the baseball. The ball jumps, making consistent hard contact averaging 93.6 mph exit velo, reaching a peak of 102.6 mph with above average bat speed at 74.9 mph. On the mound, Rizzo delivers the baseball with power, the ball jumps out of the hand with life, playing in the upper-80s while showing feel for three secondaries. A two plane breaking ball that plays with plays with two plane break in the mid-70s to pair with a firm changeup in the low-80s and a true feel for a low-80s cutter with late action. A definite name-to-know in Wisconsin’s junior class." |
- RHP/OF Elijah Gammage (New Berlin West): From 3/22/25: “... is an athletic 6-foot, 181 pound two-way prospect with a high ceiling. On the mound, Gammage ran his fastball up to 92 mph with ease and increased feel for the zone with his entire arsenal. The breaking ball made strides as well, sitting in the low-70s with consistent and sharp two-plane break. The changeup was thrown with intent, sitting in the low-80s, landing it in the zone. At the plate, Gammage swings an upside right handed bat, added more impact this offseason, with exit velocities reaching 97.8 mph with added feel for the barrel.”
- OF/RHP Brayden Banyai (Madison Memorial): Wisconsin-Milwaukee commit, one of the top competitors in the state regardless of class, plays with energy, both in the field and on the mound. On the mound the right-hander attacks hitters in the zone with a heavy dose of fastballs and breaking balls. The fastball plays with life, sitting in the mid-80s mostly while reaching 88 mph early on, the breaking ball works off the fastball and is thrown hard in the mid-70s. The right-handed hitter is also a tough out at the plate, with advanced bat-to-ball traits and a mature approach at the plate.
- OF/RHP Gavin Weissenburger (Living Word Lutheran): From 3/22/25: “... was perhaps the biggest winner of the day. This is our staff’s first viewing of the talented two-way talent in a showcase setting and put together an eye-opening performance. On the mound, Weissenburger used a simple, repeatable, explosive and well-organized delivery. The fastball averaged 85 mph and topped out at 88 mph. He paired the fastball with a late breaking slider at 72-74 mph and deployed a 77-78 mph change up with late sink. With the bat, the junior used a simple and repeatable right-handed swing and consistently barrelled the baseball through the big part of the field throughout his round. His 96 mph max exit velocity was 14th best among a group of over 150 players. Also, he ran a 6.81 seconds 60 yard dash was good for 7th best at the event. As impressive as this was, there is more ceiling in here. Weissenburger measured 5-foot-11, 182 pounds and should continue to add size and strength. Arrow way up for the junior two-way.”
LEFT-HANDERS
![]() |
Paxton Schuh LHP / Kaukauna, WI / 2026From 3/23/25: "Measured in a tapered 6-foot-1, 198 pounds with just an 11.9% body-fat percentage and just over 100 pounds of skeletal muscle mass. Presenting a rocker step delivery with a clean low 3/4s arm slot, the left-hander would sport both an upper-80s four-seam fastball and mid-80s sinker with life out of the hand on the former and late running action on the latter. The Kaukauna product would also show a mid-70s slider with tight action and an upper-70s-low-80s changeup." |
- LHP Bron Schaefer (Kaukauna): From 3/23/25: “Former 2024 Future Gamer and recent Appalachian State commit, [Scahefer] would show well on both sides of the ball Sunday. On the mound, the left-hand arm showed an uptempo rocker step delivery while working from a compact 3/4 slot. The fastball would sit 83-85 (T86) with life out of the hand and running action. Additionally, the Kaukana product would command a two-plane action curveball, a late sharp breaking slider, and a low-70s changeup with running action. At the plate, the left-handed bat would present a short and compact swing, while showing an ability to spray the field. Long & wiry 6-foot-2, 197-pound frame with present strength and athleticism.”
- LHP Logan Wierzba (West De Pere): From 3/16/25: “... is a long and lean 6-foot-1, 183 pound uncommitted left-hander in the state’s junior class. On the mound, the arm action stands out, athletic with looseness and whip through release. Also showing feel to repeat his delivery and work on time and in line to the plate. Showing a four pitch mix, the fastball plays with life out of the hand in the mid-80s (T86.7 mph), showing a two-seam with occasional run. The changeup stands out as a potential go-to pitch with heavy and late running action averaging -22.3 inches of run. The curveball plays with two plane break in the low-70s and showed feel to land the pitch in the zone.”
- LHP Joseph Tamboli (Sun Prairie East): From 3/16/25: “... is an athletic left-handed pitcher with some upside with his frame and a quick arm. Tamboli, showed an impressive 6 mph increase in his fastball velocity since last year's showcase, reaching 86 mph with the ability to command the zone. He also displayed a consistent two-plane breaking curveball (72-74 mph) that landed in the zone, a slider (74-75 mph) thrown for strikes, and a late running changeup (76-78 mph) as a useful fourth pitch. Our staff believes that Tamboli has the potential for further development in the near future.”
RIGHT-HANDERS
![]() |
Bryce Loker SS / RHP / Omro, WI / 2026From 3/1/25: "Showed exactly why he is a top player in the state of Wisconsin with his performance on Saturday. Loker was measured at 5-foot-11, 159 pounds last July at the Future Games at Lakepoint. He came into this event showing a bit more size and measured in at 6-foot-1, 164 pounds. The right-hander threw an extremely loud pen that displayed a quality three pitch mix with his fastball, curveball and change up. His fastball topped out at 91 mph with downhill angle through the zone to all four quadrants. The fastball set up a nasty late breaking two-plane curveball at 74 mph that he can land in the zone and expand below. His change up pairs well with the fastball out of the same tunnel as the heater and displayed late fade through the hitting zone. Loker, also showcased athleticism with a 7.15 seconds 60 yard dash and smooth actions up the middle on defense in his work as a position player. Loker is going to be an impactful arm at the next level and our staff is excited about what he is going to do this spring and summer seasons." |
![]() |
Luke Parkinson RHP / Whitnall, WI / 2026From 3/16/25: "...The 6-foot-3, 175 pound long levered prospect put together one of the loudest bullpen sessions of the day. His delivery was smooth and fluid with a balanced leg tuck before getting down the mound with intent. He showcased an extremely quick arm and deployed an explosive fastball through the hitting zone up to 90 mph with a max IVB of 20.0 inches. The curveball flashed two-plane out pitch weapon potential at 67-68 mph. He rounded out his arsenal with a 75-76 mph change up with late fade. The arsenal will continue to refine and the stuff will continue to tick up as the long-levered right-hander matures and gets stronger. Overall, Parkinson’s performance and stuff was extremely impressive and our staff will be locked into his game looks on the mound going forward." |
![]() |
Noah Melby RHP / Brookfield East, WI / 2026From 2/23/25: "Made gains over the offseason, clearly, sitting 87-88 mph on Sunday, listed at 6-foot-5, 223 pounds. Melby really extends down the mound (7.3-foot avg.) and generates 12.6 inches of horizontal break (14.2-inch IVB avg.) on the heater. His curve, 74-77 mph, spins at 2,400 rpm with short action, and the changeup, 83-84, has some arm-side fade/run, even though it’s firm in comparison to the fastball. The size and stuff helps make Melby a follow junior in the state." |
- RHP Landon Lassahn (Verona Area): From 3/16/25: “... displayed an extremely loose and athletic delivery, reaching up to 87 mph with the fastball with a feel for four pitches for strikes. With the fastball, he showed well above-average extension (6.6 feet) and IVB (20 inches). Additionally, Lassahn showcased two distinct breaking balls: a curveball (70-72 mph, 2,272 rpm average spin rate) and a slider (70-72 mph, 2,155 rpm average spin rate), as well as a feel for a changeup (73-77 mph). All three secondary pitches he was able to land in the zone with consistent execution. Our staff believes Lassahn has the potential to be near the top of his class by the end of his senior year if he continues to develop physically as there is plenty of room in his 6-foot-3, 173 pound frame.”
- RHP Damian Kosempa (Marquette University): From 2/23/25: “... had a very nice day on the mound. The physical right-hander was up to 87 mph with the heater that showed late and hard boring action to the arm side of the plate. Kosempa’s calling card is his ability to spin the baseball. He deployed a couple of different breaking balls. The curve showed big and late depth with 10/4 type shape while the slider (2700 RPMs) has more horizontal type break. Both profile as pitches he can land for strikes and ones he can get below for chase. The change-up is his 4th best but a useful offering with arm side type fade in the hitting zone. Kosempa is an arm we continue to like and he did not disappoint with his showing on the mound on Sunday.”
- RHP Ben Jones (Mukwonago): From 2/23/25: “... continues to be a guy who continues to improve. Jones was measured at 6-foot-2, 224 pounds with an extremely strong and sturdy frame. We saw the big righty up to 86 mph with a quick arm at the Wisconsin State Games in July and he showed up pumping the heater up to 89 mph with some carry and lift through the hitting zone. He featured a couple of different breaking balls with some lateral sweep to the pitch and a useful change up to go with it. It was yet another intriguing look at Ben Jones who continues to tick up with his stuff and overall performance.”
- RHP Braylon Brantner (Hortonville): From 3/1/25: “... was one of the big winners of the day. His average fastball the last time we saw him was 83. Today the ball was jumping out of his hand and was up to 87 with good downhill angle through the hitting zone. Late breaking curveball at 75 mph with two-plan breaking action for strikes and was used to expand. He rounded out his arsenal with a change up with heavy arm side run at the plate. Arrow up for the athletic right-hander.”
- RHP Turner Dittrich (Arrowhead): From 3/16/25: “... is a big, strong and sturdy 6-foot-7, 230 pound right-hander who took a step forward in this look. He repeated an over the top deceptive delivery that created downhill angle through the hitting zone. He topped out at 88 with feel for two different fastballs including a two-seamer with late boring action inside to a right-handed hitter. He showed feel for a two-plane breaking slider for strikes at 67-71 mph and deployed a change up 71-74 mph that showed some promise as a quality 4th pitch. Arrow up for Turner Dittrich.”
- RHP Marty Hanna (Sauk Prairie): From 3/16/25: “... showed up a stronger, more physical version of himself over the weekend, standing at 6-foot-1, 178 pounds. The added strength came with a 6 mph bump in velocity for Hanna, now sitting in the mid-80s (T86.6 mph) with feel to spin a two plane curveball in the low-70s and feel to land a changeup in the zone. Hanna is an arrow-up junior heading into the spring.”
- RHP Dylan Jeske (Muskego): From 3/22/25: “... continues to open eyes as an outfield and pitching prospect in the state. Jeske was up to 89 mph with the fastball and a quality four pitch mix including the curveball, slider and change up. The curveball has a bigger two-plane breaking action while the slider is shorter and quicker. He rounded out his repertoire with the change up that he threw with fastball intent at 79 mph. As a position player, Jeske put together an extremely loud round of batting practice. Jeske was 96 mph off the barrel with his max exit velocity and was hitting line drives consistently throughout his round. The talented junior remains a high follow for our staff.”
- RHP Joshua Bonin (New Berlin Eisenhower): From 3/9/25: “... possesses strength throughout and continues to project well. His fastball topped out at 88 mph, up from 85 mph last summer. The fastball displays heavy spin and a lot of life, with 21’’ of induced vertical break and 20’’ of horizontal movement. He also has a 75 mph curveball with a hard bite and a diving changeup. Bonin has a loose arm and a fluid delivery, consistently improving every time we see him.”
INFIELDERS
![]() |
Matthew Schoenfeldt SS / 2B / Whitefish Bay, WI / 2026From 3/1/25: "... is a sweet swinging middle infielder who put on display during batting practice with his round on Saturday. He registered a max exit velocity of 93 mph and was hitting line drives throughout his round. Schoenfeldt also showcased clean actions and feet during defensive work. The wiry built junior should add size and strength to his 6-foot-2, 176 pound frame which make him an intriguing prospect in the state." |
- MIF Aidan Kolb (Hartford Union): From 3/9/25: “... showcased why he is a name to know for the class of 2026 in the state. The compact framed middle infielder put together an impressive day with both the bat and the glove. Kolb started off his day by running a solid 6.89 seconds 60 yard dash showing quickness and athleticism through the sprint. Kolb then had a monster day with the bat as he was consistently all over the barrel and drove the ball through both gaps. Kolb showed considerable strength in his hands and registered an impressive 96 mph max exit velocity which was easily his personal best. Kolb continues to impress our Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff in all aspects of his game.”
- MIF Ian Kawczynski (Catholic Memorial): From 2/23/25: “One of the biggest winners of the day was UW-Milwaukee Panthers commit [Kawczynski]. The middle infielder looked as if he added considerable strength to his lower half and it resulted in one of the event best 60 yard dash times (6.73 seconds) and hard consistent contact throughout his round of batting practice. The right-hander’s quick and twitchy hands through the baseball resulted in rockets to all fields from an aggressive yet controlled swing. He maxed out his exit velocity at 93 mph and had an average exit velocity of 90 mph. On defense, Kawczynski continues to show burst and athleticism in the infield to go along with his soft hands and has enough arm strength to stick on the left side and/or play multiple positions around the field. Kawczynski proved why he is a name to know in the state after his performance.”
