Kole Grundy 3B / RHP / Somerset High School / 2026

1.000 AVG | 1.000 OBP | 1.429 SLG | 7 H | 4 R | 5 RBI | 1 2B | 1 3B | 1 BB

This week's Player of the Week award goes to one of the top uncommitted prospects, 2026 Kole Grundy out of Somerset High School! There was not much of a debate for the offensive award this week, as Grundy reached base each and every time he stepped in the box. A perfect 7-7 at the plate with 2 XBH and a walk, the physical righty picked up 10 total bases in just two games. With Grundy in the cleanup spot, the Briarjumpers' offense exploded early last week with a 21 run performance on Monday, the most Somerset has scored since March of 2022. The 6'4" 210lb two-way scored four and drove in three, then followed up with three more hits against Russell County to bring his weekly hit total to seven. Although it didn't matter for this award, Grundy pitched a complete game for the Briarjumpers, allowing just one run while striking out seven. The 3B/RHP has legitimate two-way talent that is sure to compete at the next level. The top ranked 3B in the '26 class was a 2024 Future Games standout, showing a mature approach at the plate and the ability consistently mash at exit velocities into the triple digits. Grundy has continued his late summer success through the high school season, and now boasts a team leading .426 AVG with 26 H, 17 R, 15 RBI, 8 XBH and 11 BB. A long time favorite of the KY staff, congratulations to Kole Grundy for winning this week's offensive award!
