🔍 Notable Trends:
- Grace Christian and Metrolina Christian emerge as unanimous championship favorites in 3A and 4A respectively.
- While all 3 picked Metrolina Christian, there is a thought among all three scouts that the 4A tournament is loaded with teams that are talented enough to walk-away as State Champions. This is noted in the “Sleeper” section below.
- Burlington Christian Academy sweeps the 2A picks, pointing to strong consensus around their season performance. The Royals lone loss came to Grace Christian School. The Royals have several notable wins on teams that have continued play into the post-season.
- The 1A Field should be a fun watch. There are several teams that matchup and could make a run to the title, noted by our 3 scouts each selecting a different club.
🔥 Sleeper Picks: Who Can Make a Deep Run?
NCISAA Dark Horses (Outside Top 4 Seeds):
- Wesleyan Christian is mentioned by both Johnson and Boraski. Johnson praises their arms and balanced lineup, while Boraski adds that despite inconsistencies, their raw talent is among the best statewide.
- Providence Day (Hall) stands out for their tough schedule and familiarity with top teams like Charlotte Christian.
📝 Other Notes & Items to Know from our Scouting Staff
Toughest Bracket
- Our scouting staff was asked which NCISAA bracket could create the most issues for the top seeded teams. Boraski went with the 1A Bracket, noting the parity that could exits in the top 3-4 seeds.
- Johnson went with the 3A - while each scout picked Grace Christian to win the title, there are questions in a single elimination tournament that could be posed by teams along the way.
- Hall selected the 4A bracket with the top 4 seeds capable of running out high end arms and producing runs against top pitchers. Teams in this bracket are battle tested and one bad inning could spell the end for some higher seeds.
Easiest Path
- The staff was asked to look at the bracket and let us know which Top 2-3 seeds had the easiest path to the Championship Finals. Answers were all over the board. Throughout the NCISAA brackets, we expect to see good games and close scores as the tournaments get into their 2nd and 3rd rounds.
- The dispersion of talent and the parity a single-elimination format can create should create a ton of excitement in the coming two weeks. We expect to see several higher seeds make their way to championship weekend, but do not be surprised to see some upsets along the way.
