AHSAA Class 7A-1A Playoffs: Elite 8 Playoff Performers

We're now down to the final four teams in each classification of the AHSAA Class 7A-1A State Playoffs. The Elite 8 round was packed with standout performances as teams across Alabama pressed forward in their chase for a state title. From overpowering pitching displays to explosive offensive efforts, players rose to the occasion and delivered in key moments to help their teams secure semifinal berths. Here's a look at some of the top individual performers who made a big impact and helped build momentum heading into what promises to be another thrilling week of postseason action in Alabama.
Class 1A Top Performers
- Kiah Lake (Addison) – Pitched 5 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 run, and struck out 3 in a complete game win in Game 1 as No. 5 Addison swept Lynn.
- Jed Wilkins (Addison) – Went a perfect 5-for-5 with a home run and 2 RBIs in Game 2 as No. 5 Addison swept Lynn.
- Blaise Vickery (Hackleburg) – In Game 1, pitched 7 innings allowing 4 hits, no earned runs, and struck out 8 in a complete game win; also went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, a home run, and 3 RBIs. In Game 2, his solo home run was the only run of the game in a 1-0 win as No. 1 Hackleburg swept South Lamar.
- Sawyer Sullivan (Leroy) – Pitched 7 innings allowing 4 hits, 3 earned runs, and struck out 10 in a complete game win; also went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI in Game 1 as No. 6 Leroy took two of three from No. 4 Florala.
- Jon Harper Kilcrease (Brantley) – Pitched 5 innings allowing 4 hits, 4 earned runs, and struck out 7 in a Game 2 win; also went 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs as No. 9 Brantley swept Autauga Academy.
Class 2A Top Performers
- Beau Willis (Mars Hill Bible) – Tossed a complete game, going 7 innings with 5 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts in No. 7 Mars Hill Bible’s series win over No. 6 Red Bay.
- Cody Willis (Mars Hill Bible) – Went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and delivered the walk-off RBI single in Game 3 as No. 7 Mars Hill Bible took the series over No. 6 Red Bay.
- Casen Fields (Vincent) – Had a monster series going 6-for-6 with a double, 2 home runs, and 3 RBIs in No. 1 Vincent’s sweep of No. 2 Sumiton Christian.
- Aiden Poe (Vincent) – Threw a combined 8 innings in Games 1 and 2, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk, and striking out 13; also added a home run at the plate in No. 1 Vincent’s sweep.
- Calvin Johnson (Vincent) – Pitched 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, no walks, and struck out 6 in Game 1; also chipped in an RBI single in the sweep over No. 2 Sumiton Christian.
- Jamarkius Smith (Reeltown) – Pitched 4.1 no-hit innings with 5 walks and 10 strikeouts in Game 1; then went 2-for-4 with a triple and 3 RBIs in Game 2 as Reeltown swept No. 8 Cottonwood.
- Hagan Smith (Reeltown) – Went 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run, and 2 strikeouts on the mound and was 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs in Game 2 to help sweep No. 8 Cottonwood.
- Kade Brookins (Pike Liberal Arts) – Tossed a 1-hit shutout with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts over 7 innings and added a double in Game 1 as No. 9 Pike Liberal Arts took two of three over Tuscaloosa Academy.
- Luke Barron (Pike Liberal Arts) – Went 7 innings allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 4 strikeouts and also had a 2-run double in Game 3 as No. 9 Pike Liberal Arts won the series.
Class 3A Top Performers
- John Driver (Gordo) – Threw a complete-game shutout in a must-win Game 2, going 7 innings with 2 hits, no walks, and 7 strikeouts as No. 8 Gordo took two of three from No. 10 Whitesburg Christian.
- Spencer Haney (Winfield) – Earned the win in relief with 4.2 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 earned run, and 3 strikeouts in Game 2; also went 5-for-7 with 2 doubles at the plate as No. 3 Winfield swept Vinemont.
- Kyson Key (Winfield) – Tossed a complete game in Game 1, going 5 innings with 6 hits, 1 earned run, no walks, and 6 strikeouts; also went 2-for-4 at the plate as No. 3 Winfield swept Vinemont.
- Tyler Sykes (Glenwood) – Dominated in Game 1 with a 7-inning complete game, allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs, no walks, and striking out 11 as No. 2 Glenwood swept No. 5 Saint James.
- Hudson Campbell (Glenwood) – Went 5 scoreless innings in Game 2, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts; also had a double and 4 RBIs across both games as No. 2 Glenwood completed the sweep.
- Mason McCraine (Glenwood) – Crushed a home run and a double, driving in 5 runs over the two-game sweep of No. 5 Saint James.
- Blake Bowman (Prattville Christian) – Fired a gem in Game 1 with a complete-game two-hit shutout, striking out 9 with no walks as No. 1 Prattville Christian won the series against No. 6 Lee-Scott Academy.
Class 4A Top Performers
- Garrett Reid (Deshler) – Turned in a stellar performance on the mound with 8 innings of two-hit, shutout baseball and 9 strikeouts in Game 2; also went 3-for-4 in Game 3 as No. 6 Deshler took two of three from No. 5 Haleyville.
- Camden Fuller (Deshler) – Delivered the walk-off RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the 8th in Game 2 as No. 6 Deshler took the series over No. 5 Haleyville.
- Jacob Alexander (Deshler) – Dominated Game 3 with a complete game (7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 4 K) and a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate with a home run and 2 RBIs.
- Damon DeVine (Etowah) – Threw a complete-game shutout in Game 1 (7 IP, 4 H, 6 K) as No. 2 Etowah swept No. 9 Central-Florence.
- Jameson Scissum (Etowah) – Followed with a shutout of his own, tossing 7 innings of five-hit ball with 5 Ks in Game 2 to complete the sweep.
- Ethan McMillan (Bibb County) – Went 7 innings in Game 2, allowing just 3 hits and a run with 7 strikeouts, then added a 2-for-3 performance with a double and RBI in Game 3 as No. 3 Bibb County won the series over Tallassee.
- Bodie Giddiens (Bibb County) – Went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBIs in Game 2 of the series win over Tallassee.
- Brayden Cash (Bibb County) – Dominated on the mound in Game 3, throwing 7 scoreless innings with 2 hits and 11 Ks; also doubled in the win.
- Olen Bryant (Oak Grove) – Went 3-for-6 with a double and 3 RBIs in the series, including a clutch two-out RBI single to tie Game 1 in the 7th as No. 1 Oak Grove swept No. 7 Trinity Presbyterian.
- Weston Hyche (Oak Grove) – Came through in the clutch with a two-out walk-off RBI single in Game 1 and added two more RBIs in Game 2 to help No. 1 Oak Grove advance.
- Brody Black (Oak Grove) – Pitched 5 scoreless innings (4 H, 1 BB, 3 K) in Game 2 and went 2-for-3 at the plate in Game 1 of the sweep over Trinity Presbyterian.
Class 5A Top Performers
- Myles Johnson (Madison Academy) – Went 2-4 with a 2B, HR (Grand Slam), and 4 RBI in Game 3 as No. 2 Madison Academy took two of three from No. 6 Lawrence County.
- Jack Doyle (Madison Academy) – Pitched 5 IP (W), allowing 2 H, no R, and 3 K in a 1-0 win in Game 1 as No. 2 Madison Academy took two of three from No. 6 Lawrence County.
- Jaylen Crocker (American Christian Academy) – Pitched 7 IP (CGW), allowing 5 H, no ER, 1 BB, and 7 K; hit a HR and drove in 3 RBI in Game 1 as No. 3 American Christian swept Scottsboro.
- BJ Garth (American Christian) – Pitched 6.2 IP, allowing 5 H, no R, and 4 K; also hit a 3B and drove in an RBI in Game 2 as No. 3 American Christian swept Scottsboro.
- Eric Hines (American Christian) – Hit his 18th HR of the year, driving in 3 RBI in Game 2 as No. 3 American Christian swept Scottsboro.
- Adan Ramey (Elberta) – Pitched 7 IP, allowing 3 H, 2 R, and 13 K in Game 2; went 2-4 with an RBI in Game 3 as Elberta took two out of three against No. 8 Marbury.
- KC Jones (Elberta) – Went 2-3 with a 2B and RBI in Game 2; also went 2-4 with 2.1 IP, allowing 1 H, 1 R, and 4 K in Game 3 as Elberta took two out of three against No. 8 Marbury.
- Roman Lochrico (Elberta) – Went 2-4 with 3 RBI in Game 3 as Elberta took two out of three against No. 8 Marbury.
- Tate Farrell (St. Paul’s Episcopal) – Pitched 7 IP (CGW), allowing 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, and 5 K in Game 1 as No. 4 St. Paul’s Episcopal swept UMS-Wright.
- Bradley Irish (St. Paul’s Episcopal) – Pitched 7 IP (CGW), allowing 7 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, and 12 K in Game 2 as No. 4 St. Paul’s Episcopal swept UMS-Wright.
- Hudson Farnell (St. Paul’s Episcopal) – Hit a 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning of Game 2 to give the Saints the lead as No. 4 St. Paul’s Episcopal swept UMS-Wright.
- Brooks McDonald (St. Paul’s Episcopal) – Went 4-6 with a HR and an RBI as No. 4 St. Paul’s Episcopal swept UMS-Wright.
- John Stowers (St. Paul’s Episcopal) – Hit a HR, 2B, and drove in 3 RBI as No. 4 St. Paul’s Episcopal swept UMS-Wright.
Class 6A Top Performers
- Parker Robinson (Gardendale) – Pitched 8 IP, allowing 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, and 6 K in Game 1 as No. 8 Gardendale swept No. 2 Mountain Brook.
- Carson Burdette (Gardendale) – Delivered a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 8th in Game 1 and went 3-4, with 2 RBI in Game 2 as No. 8 Gardendale swept No. 2 Mountain Brook.
- Caiden Combs (Gardendale) – Tossed 7 IP, with 3 H, 0 R, 10 K, and went 2-4 with a 2B and an RBI in Game 2 as No. 8 Gardendale swept No. 2 Mountain Brook.
- Jace Meadows (Hartselle) – Threw 7 IP, allowing 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, and 9 K in Game 1 as No. 1 Hartselle swept No. 9 Pell City.
- Braden Weathers (Hartselle) – Went 2-2 with a HR and 2 RBI in Game 1 as No. 1 Hartselle swept No. 9 Pell City.
- Cain Falciani (Hartselle) – Went 1-2 with a 2B and 3 RBI in Game 1 as No. 1 Hartselle swept No. 9 Pell City.
- Connor Stiles (Hartselle) – Pitched 7 IP, allowing 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, and 5 K in Game 2 as No. 1 Hartselle swept No. 9 Pell City.
- Tyler Woodham (Stanhope Elmore) – Pitched 7 IP, allowing 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, and 3 K on 73 pitches in Game 1 as Stanhope Elmore swept Spanish Fort.
- Jackson Stallworth (Stanhope Elmore) – Went 2-2 with 2 2Bs and 4 RBIs in the series as Stanhope Elmore swept Spanish Fort.
- Romney Henry (Stanhope Elmore) – Went 2-4, with an RBI single to tie it 3-3 in Game 1 as Stanhope Elmore swept Spanish Fort.
- Jordan Jones (Stanhope Elmore) – Pitched 5 IP, allowing 3 H, 0 R, 6 K in Game 2 and hit the walk-off RBI sacrifice fly in Game 1 as Stanhope Elmore swept Spanish Fort.
- Jackson Price (Chelsea) – Pitched 5 IP, allowing 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, and 8 K in Game 2 as No. 3 Chelsea took two of three games against Calera.
- Bryant Wisdom (Chelsea) – Went 5-9 with 2 RBI for the series in his first varsity action as an eighth-grader as No. 3 Chelsea took two of three games against Calera.
- Chase Lackey (Chelsea) – Went 6-8 with a 3B and 2 RBI for the series as No. 3 Chelsea took two of three games against Calera.
- Paxton Stallings (Chelsea) – Went 1-2 with a HR and 4 RBI in Game 2 and pitched 4 IP, allowing 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, and 6 K in relief and drove home a run in Game 3 as No. 3 Chelsea took two of three games against Calera.
Class 7A Top Performers
- Rock Gearhart (Fairhope) – Went 2-2 with 2 HR and 4 RBI over two games as No. 5 Fairhope swept No. 4 Central-Phenix City. He did not get a chance to do further damage as he walked twice and was intentionally walked three times in his only other plate appearances.
- Will Sparks (Fairhope) – Pitched 6 IP (W), allowing 2 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, and 8 K in Game 2 as No. 5 Fairhope swept No. 4 Central-Phenix City.
- Miles Drew Johnson (Fairhope) – Pitched 6 IP (W), allowing 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, and 2 K as No. 5 Fairhope swept No. 4 Central-Phenix City.
- Brady Richardson (Enterprise) – Pitched 6.1 IP (W), allowing 2 H, 1 R, 10 K, and hit a HR with an RBI in a 2-1 Game 2 win as No. 3 Enterprise swept Auburn.
- Tanner Hermesch (Bob Jones) – Went 10 IP in a complete-game win, allowing 7 H, 0 R, 12 K in Game 1 and went 1-2 with a 2B, 3 RBI, including the go-ahead RBI double in the bottom of the 6th in Game 2 as No. 2 Bob Jones swept No. 1 Hewitt-Trussville.
- Mason Rinehart (Bob Jones) – Hit the two-out RBI double in the top of the 10th to drive home the go-ahead run in a 1-0 win in Game 1 as No. 2 Bob Jones swept No. 1 Hewitt-Trussville.
- Camden Martin (Bob Jones) – Pitched 4.1 IP, allowing 4 H, 2 R in Game 2 as No. 2 Bob Jones swept No. 1 Hewitt-Trussville.
